Lee threw a good ball, had a quick release but he had a fatal flaw...Guy play scared of getting hit.

Say what you want about JJ but the dude was tough.

I booed the insertion of JJ on that drive in the stadium

2008 he threw a total of 7 pick 6. At one point he threw one in six straight games if I recall. He was a disaster waiting to happen.

This thread has been beaten to death

a pick getting returned for a TD is not all the QBs fault. When jumping a swing pass or screen its pretty much auto TD. Can be chalked up to bad throw, great read, bad blocking or even bad play call.

when a pick 6 is thrown to a WR guys on offense normally have a chance to make a play.

I haven't looked back at that season in a long time so I dont remember what exactly happened. Just saying

As bad as Jarrett Lee looked sometimes he'd come back with beautiful throws.

Remember auburn 08? Threw that terrible screen that got picked for 6?
Come back and threw ball all over the field like he was a vet.
Alabama 08 he sucked too, however without him and his arm, LSU would never it that game to overtime.

His sr season was redemption for his fans and himself most importantly.
He showed what a leader and qb he was.

" I booed the insertion of JJ on the drive"I

You thought a four game suspension for a misdemeanor charge wasn't severe enough punishment or you thought the staff should have left JL in the game to run the ball??

You cant blame him for that Auburn pick. Really crappy circumstances.

Lee showed promise but needed a good coach. I feel like we just threw him in and said we running the same offense as last year. never dumbed it down for the young qb. (oh how times have changed). Our offense scored points that year. Malveto defense gave up points on the reg and the offense helped out at times too

I worked for the team that year so I was at all practices and games on sidelines. I remember that UGA thinking this is where we turn it around. Watching Stafford AJ Green and Knowshon was crazy. AJ had a 50 yard TD catch and I was like yeah this dude gonna be a star. And we still only lost by like 2 scores even though it felt like we got dominated

Watch him do the opposite in the Alabama game.

That's why.

Yep, and I can't help but to think that we will do this all over again in 2018 with Brennan and Narcisse...

Jefferson was worse, didnt cross the 50

It was ridiculous Les didnt give Lee a chance in the UGA or Bama game when Jefferson was completely terrible.

You can cherry pick a game all you want. Fact is Lee was one of the best in the SEC prior to Bama. I can give numerous games where JJ was terrible, NC included.

Come to think of it, I'm leaving this thread. Huge can of worms OP has opened

Lee was not the most amazing qb ever but he gets dogged way more than he should.

He does but he also gets more credit than he should, like this thread.

2008 D was bad (and yes, I remember UGA and UF hanging 50 on us), but as bad as Tepper's D???

(well you're right... I just reviewed all the other scores, and 2008 was BRUTAL from a points allowed perspective)
