we are in Gonzales near 621/airline and we didn't even have water covering the street. but, the video of gonzales up by brewbachers looks pretty bad.
Does anyone have a link to that video?

I know someone who lives near the beginning of the street, water up to their porch.

Do you think a two story house on Brightside would be ok? Getting a little nervous with all the talk
Posted on 8/14/16 at 12:50 pm to TigerGirl411
Amite at Denham has dropped 6 inches in two hours. Holy shite.

How has a device that can evaporate mass quantities of water not been invented yet?
You know it rains when mass quantities of water evaporate right?

The area by bayou fountain, the neighborhood across from pelican lakes. Do y'all see the water coming this way? Need to know if we can go to that area

No, 21.5 would be the max, unless of course they change the crest forecast.
It's worth noting that this depends on where you are in the relation to the river, and where your bayou empties into the river.
The Amite is at 46.2 feet in Denham Springs. The 21.5 feet projection is for Bayou Manchac. There are quite a few bayous with back flow issues in between, so the "safe" height is going to vary wildly. If you're anywhere in the drainage area and you're worried at all, get out and come back tomorrow evening.

Im in gonzales between 621 and Babin. No standing water here at all but someone posted drone pics another EA stadium and it looked like the stadium and baseball field were under. Heart of Gonzales doesn't look good and StAmant appears to be in the crosshairs now.

Thank you. Any concern for future flooding from backflow?

As of an hour ago Shenandoah avenue was open. You can route your way through the side streets to reach most streets in the neighborhood
