Lol you mean chimney swallows? If you have chimney sweeps hatching in your chimney I'd recommend asking them to leave once they get done sweeping your chimney.

Drop black cats down chimney chute then stand on the ready with scatter gun. Repeat process until sweeps are no mas.

Nature's best mosquito control.
I have two chimneys full.
Awesome aerial display in afternoon/evening.

Make sure to close the screen or doors on the fireplace if you use that method.
I've heard of them going nuts and flying down and coming in the house. Then they bang into the ceiling and walls, leaving smut smears throughout the house.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago. I could hear them chirping but didn't realize it was coming from the fireplace. The next afternoon I was in my back yard having a drink and saw a couple of them fly into my chimney. I went into the house and I could hear them chirping from the fireplace. Lit a fire, let it burn for half an hour, put it out and went on the roof and put a screen over the chimney.
frick those little badtards.

You only have a few more weeks of them being in the US. They are fattening up to make the long flight to South America, eating many mosquitoes in the meantime

My chimney is protected by a spark arrestor so no chimney swifts. Barn swallows on the other hand are a pain in the arse. They build mud nests on top of the columns on the front porch. Some people put pool noodles cut up..on top of the area to block them. Damn birds move the noodles. Crafty bitches. Another company makes a nest of needle like structures to block nest makers.
I've been lucky...ever since I pressure washed the first one off...all I've had is doves making stick/grass nests. I can clean those up...plus that helps the hunting out!
