Never been. I've got clients who say it's old world Italian style and fun family style dining. I can't remember reading anything about it on here. Dishes they do well?

There have been a few threads over the years. Family style, bring lots of cash. Oysters Mosca, the two chicken dishes (family style). Crab salad and pineapple puff (if I recall correctly). Not the best, but certainly has the flavor of older times. You won't love it, but it will satisfy in ways no other place can.
My memory from what I've learned over the years. Never been there myself.

very good, wasn't cheap. Cash only IIRC

Yeah. Reviews seem pretty unanimous of it being decently done traditional Italian. Cash only kinda place. Wife doesn't do oysters unfortunately, but any other recs are appreciated. I'm guessing at the looks of prices, you probably don't need an entree per person.

Good old school place. Go with at least 4 people. It is family style. Cash only. Can't beat the oyster and the crab salad.

I think the nostalgia dims reviewers' taste buds, but I haven't been in years.

Yep. I think that's probably common of of places like this, but scratch made old world Italian with care is always a thumbs up in my book. Not common place for many spots in Louisiana these days.

Best old timey spaghetti and meatballs around and the whole chicken is great. Both will feed two adults and a kid. I don't care for Oysters Mosca but it's a signature dish. Chianti in small water glasses. Cash only. I go a couple times a year-was there a few months ago and it is the same as it has been since I first went in early 70's. Go and enjoy it. Chicken takes an hour to cook.
There is an Al Capones cook connection with Carlos Marcello but I'm sure someone else can clarify that story.

Mosca was Marcellos cook. He liked him and set him up with the restaurant. Was probably a front at first. Presumably legit now but the cash only thing screams laundering.

it is an odd location. A white tiny house all by itself across the street from a landfill.

I've been several times over the years. The last time was probably a year ago.
I've always enjoyed it a lot. The Oysters Mosca, crabmeat salad, spaghetti Bordelaise, chicken a la grande and, if they have it that night, sausage Johnny (homemade in house) with roasted potatoes. The shrimp Mosca is good, as well, but I go for the oysters.

To be fair, it's not directly across the street from a landfill, as Google Earth will easily confirm.

okay, it's pretty damn close to a landfill.
damn near close enough to being right across the street.
But I don't want to upset any of your familia Don Marcello.
Shrimp Mosca may be my favorite take on BBQ shrimp.
I think this place is best with a party of at least four.
