i don't even like cops. majority of people don't, but i'm certainly not scared they'll kill me. there's not a single scenario that i can think of where i would ever be frightened a cop would shoot me. additionally, even though i'm not a big fan...if i'm getting pulled over, arrested, questioned, etc. it's probably because i'm doing something i shouldn't be doing.

and they'll still be the first people i call when i'm in danger.

it's a love/hate thing. i can't imagine what it must feel like to have most of our society love/hate you just because of what you do.

@RevJJackson: A Chicago youth is killed. The camera cutoff is a cover-up. Murder is murder. #PaulOneal LINK

So this guy stole a Jaguar, fled wrecklessly, hit multiple squad units, and then ran on foot and the cops were confused by the heat of the action thinking they were fired upon.

As the Dallas Police Chief says "don't be a part of the problem."

Don't commit crimes and when you're caught and run, don't expect the cops to just let you go.

Why do you not like cops? I am not saying all cops are good, there are bad cops, no question, but to say you don't like cops.. as in all of them.. You are better off with them than without them.

I have the national news on and this was the lead story. Thats the type of shite that pisses me off. It doesn't matter if you are white, black, etc... If you in a car chase with cops then make the decision to crash into them, get out and start running. Whatever happens after that is on that person who is running from the cops.

If someone crashes into police like this jackass did, can that be considered attempted murder?

So he steals a car, proceeds to drive wildly down streets and slams into another cop car. Then he gets out of the car and runs from the police who then pursue on foot and deem whatever his actions were to warrant being shot.

What is the issue? If he was walking out of a grocery store and a cop walked up and shot him for no reason, I'd see the issue.

Instead you have an 18 year old adult, who likely has done this before. Put himself in this situation. End of story move on and frick off BLM protestors who riot over this kind of nonsense.

Good, should be harsher penalties on people who steal from others.

They used to hang people for stealing a horse, but you steal someones car and they just let you go.

Hell, according to this crap is sounds like you should be able to steal a car, flee from police, ram your car head on into a police car, almost drive over a cop with the stolen car that you just collided into his car head on with, and then drive away with no problem.

Sorry. I don't care about the policy. Chicago is an extremely violent city. This guy was a violent criminal. I'm happy that no one needs to be concerned about this guy doing another bad act.

maybe i'm being too naive here but... throughout this whole cops vs the people shite show my opinion has been, "why aren't people just doing what the fricking cops ask of them?" if you give them no reason to suspect you of being guilty, comply with what they ask of you, and follow directions, i find it very difficult to believe they will go around shooting citizens. if i'm wrong, someone please explain it to me.

That works out fine unless you are deaf, have a mental issue, or don't speak English, cops have killed un-armed people in each of these cases because the suspect did not comply with instructions an moved in a threating manner. I am not anti-cop, I just believe most have very poor training for the job they are doing.

Listen, if you steal a car and damn near run over several police officers as they try to stop you, you are highly likely to get fricking shot. White or black. What ever happened to common sense?

That seems to be all it takes for police to attack regular citizens
