But none of the people that are going to care about this one in Chicago care about happenings in Anchorage. Not enough stuff to riot against up there
The point was actually that shooting a fleeing, unarmed suspect doesnt necesarily equal crime. It depends on policy.

That idiot cop in the first video almost shot his partner across the street!

Right, I got that. But my point was that if the Anchorage incident happened in an urban community, best believe there would be hell raising going on

What's breaking about this?
They just released the videos, earlier than intended, thus civil unrest is imminent

Why couldn't they release this on a Monday when for the rest of the week the rioters will be at work or scho.....nevermind.

Anchorage has the most diverse neighborhood in the country, Mountainview. Its a decent mid sized city.

t did not happen. And if that is what happened the police would not be relieved of their duties
They fired into the car as it was speeding away, which is against Their written police policy. The guy got out and ran and they shot him in the back.
So whatever happened, if he wasnt a thief and didnt run, he would be alive

Maybe "rams" is not the right word. But he clearly hits the vehicle and almost runs over the cop that got out of it.

Maybe I'm missing something but it appears that the police shot first. Which some police took as the suspect shooting. So that's why they fatally put him down. Doesn't seem justifiable to me

Another idiot POS any normal person would give zero fricks is dead directly because of his actions

Unless policy was broken the cop will get off.

Crap, just watched the last video. He runs into that 2nd cop car head on!

Is that Southside Chicago? Homes looked fairly nice.

As a reminder, Chicago police policy prohibits the use of shooting at a car when the only danger presented is the car it's self.
quote:
officers screamed at O'Neal while he was on the ground dying, saying, "Why did you have to shoot at us?"
[He was unarmed].
A source told ABC Eyewitness News that apparently the officers who fired the fatal shots thought O'Neal had fired on the officers who were first on the scene.
O'Neal was shot in the back. He was unarmed at the time.
You could tell, watching these videos, that the narrative to cover this up had already begun before anything happened. You could hear officers telling other officers to cut off their body cameras."
quote:
's unclear as to whether or not he was the actual shooter, but you are going to one of the police officers say, 'Now I'm going to get a 30-day suspension,'" said Michael Oppenheimer, the O'Neal family's attorney.

That's what I was getting from the first video. A cop says his partner almost got hit so he started shooting at the car. It appears that other officers thought that the suspect was shooting at them... when really it was one of the cops.

unarmed man
A man using a car as a weapon is not unarmed.

Every officer who fired their weapon should see the inside of a cell for a few years. 7 sounds fair to me.
