82 in a 65 in the great state of Mississippi.

Lawyer up? Call the courthouse?

I'm a truck driver, but it was in my personal vehicle. So I need it reduced to a non moving, if that's possible, or I get the axe.

well it sounds like you were speeding and you just confessed it in writing (quoted so you can't recant). Hopefully they'll send you to the big house where you will serve Bubba salad after the lawyer drains your bank account dry.

You should have your license suspended.

You get fired if you get a speeding ticket in your own vehicle?

Any decent attorney can get this knocked down to at least a non-moving violation. Probably cost you a hundred bucks for the attorney and depending on the Court maybe a small fine for the non moving violation. Where did this happen?

Where in MS and who do you know there is going to be much more effective than an attorney.

On a positive note most MS speeding fines are less than half of LA's for the same offense.

I knowingly lose my job if I get a speeding ticket. Proceeds to go 17 miles an hour over.

What method was used to obtain your speed?

Radar? Laser? VASCAR? Airplane? Pacing?

Call and speak with the DA. If you don't have any other tickets on your record (or recent), let them know that you are asking to pay the fine for a non-moving violation.

Show up for court, most of the time they will reduce to an equipment violation if you talk to them nicely.

This is just a bad idea. I would not risk your job based on the mood of an ada on any given day. Pay a few bucks and have an attorney take care of it. Also stop speeding.

Have you at any point in your life sweated in the heat while the DA was in the AC?

Also here is a free tip... when your job is on the line... don't break the law.

If you were in Jackson aka Jafrica, you are SOL unless you want to sit in court all afternoon and watch people have their violations for not having insurance thrown out. I speak from experience.
