I am the same way in that my anxiety is hyper focused on health. It presents this way as I have trouble with uncertainty and like to be in control. I’m learning in therapy that need to be in control comes from various sources in my life (parents not loving me, not feeling valued, being a problem child). That’s the root. Learning to forgive others and then myself and walking with God. Knowing him as not just a savior but also as a father is the answer.

I take 20mg Lexapro and it helps with anxiety. Worrying about everything really sucks and will drain you. Get with your doctor and see what works for you. Don't just "deal with it" though.
Before I started taking the medicine, I was always socially scared of working out in a gym, so I never joined one. Once the anxiety started fading, I joined a gym and exercising only helped it fade away more (in addition to medicine).
It's really helped me out overall.

I’ve struggled with being a hypochondriac all my life. The only advice I have for you is to simply keep your mind occupied with things that you enjoy. That is the best way to manage anxiety. No amount of medications, sex, or alcohol will change it.

I absolutely had a rough go with this after Covid and more recently at the end of 2022/beg of 2023.
I found some help with the MindShift app it’s free and allows for some CBT and journaling. Def recommend checking it out

Do you ever notice that you feel anxious, but you don’t know why? Then your brain starts scanning for something to explain the anxiety. It will eventually attach to something, and that thing appears to become the source of your anxiety. But if you are really cognizant of what is going on, sometimes you might notice that the anxiety actually predates the thing you eventually become obsessed with. That used to happen to me, and it was incredibly frustrating. Go out and get exercise especially outdoors in the sunlight. It’s the best time of year for that.

Yep. My thought patterns exactly. Then I start to cascade and have some weird/odd pain shows up in some random part of my body that lasts for weeks. Really difficult at times...

To you and others who have what you believe may be a "false sense" of something hurting...
Maybe your body with its billion of sensory cell is communicating the correct messages to your brain that things aren't exactly right. (IF that is the case, that wouldn't make you or many others a "Hypochondriac", would it?)
THEORY-close-to-FACT (quite a bit of merit here but is not nor will ever be widely or publicly reported):
We have all been surrounded by invisible Electricity and Radio Waves (RF) since the 1920s. It is wired in our homes, at workplaces, along giant electric lines and towers -- everywhere.
Recently 4 and 5G towers have been installed everywhere, adding further invisible spectra of electro-magnetic frequencies ( EMF) to the already saturated aether /air. Another thing to be aware of: Radiation from cell towers, cell phones, microwave ovens, bluetooth.
ALL of these invisible RF / EMF wave potentially cause the body to react to the brain (maybe construed as, "I'm imagining I'm being hurt somehow, but that can't be, can it?").
It has indeed been discovered this constant barrage of radio waves, sound frequencies and home electric grid is factually harmful to our health, our body, brain and DNA.
Fortunately there are remedies and safeguards. (The first step is awareness and acknowledgement of RF / EMF exposure.)

My wife dealt with it. Get a therapist to equip you with better coping strategies.
Also, speak openly with others about it. It helps to normalize counseling and allows others to anticipate your possible reaction to conversations that triggers your anxiety.

I think everyone has gone through a bit of this at one time or another. "Anxiety" is your mind's way of keeping you in check, IMO. It usually stems from something we know, deep down, we're not doing correctly in our lives.
Getting your life in order and being on constant offense in all areas - spiritual, health, finances, relationships - helps you to be in control and worry a lot less. Sometimes it's just an overwhelming fear that it's all going to fall apart. Having a plan and getting ahead of things will give you much peace.
As far as your health goes, just make sure you're getting annual screenings (as appropriate for your age/gender), pay attention to lab work, exercise, get enough sleep, feed your body nutritious food, and then... let it go.
Spending your time today worrying about something that may or may NOT happen WILL NOT LESSEN THE PAIN if the thing does, in fact, happen in the future. All you have done is pre-suffered for something that isn't even happening to you right now.
The mind is a very powerful thing, and negative self-talk (aka worry/anxiety) is extremely detrimental to your health. I know it's easier said than done, but please put in the work to get your self out of this cycle. It is 100% possible!
Also, whoever mentioned deep breathing is spot on. Breathe in slowly through your nose (about 5 counts) and slowly out of your mouth (about 5 counts). Do it 10 times. You will be amazed at how this small activity will calm your mind and regulate your breathing.
Good luck! Anxiety is a bummer, but you will get through it because you're already headed in the right direction!
