"Devon was a really kind person but he just got himself caught up in too much stuff," Martes said of her son. "He really wasn't a bad boy, but he put himself in that situation. He put himself in harm's way."
Of the deputies, she said: "They had to do what they had to do."
I can live with that.
Now some of you may have wanted her to call him a TPOS, but mother's really don't do that when burying a son.

No one cares what you think.

Devon Martin's parents seem like good people. They get it, not all kids are angels.

Well, I mean as long as YOU'RE OK with it then I guess we can let it slide.

Idk if I'd say that about someone with 11 kids. They're obviously milking the system at that point, but the comments are correct and unexpected

Proof yet again the taxpayers need to quit funding this

you only get EIC to a certain point, but yeah living in an apartment with 11 kids means you made bad choices in life.

"You got a momma and a dad. That's one blessing right there. We work, we come home. We work, we come home and we take care of them. We just took them Sunday to Gulfport, to the Gulf Island Water Park.
Many of the children are adults. Proof that you are an idiot.

Where do you get that 1) it was an apartment, and 2) that all 11 lived there? SOme of the offspring are adults and one other is dead.

What were the adults before they became adults?

The concept of quality over quantity is lost on this lady, apparently.

Most Christian families had that many kids a couple generations ago.

Her statement should be the norm... This may not have been the young man she knew but he brought this on himself

That was more than a couple generations ago. I'm one of five and I grew up with many friends who had six to eight siblings in the 70's. A few doctors in this town now are from a family of 15 who owned a gas station.
Too bad Mr. Hogminer didn't let it hit the thigh instead of the egg.

There was a family that grew up right down the street from me years ago. Catholic and conservative. Their dad served in World War II. They had 10 kids. Oldest was 16 and the youngest was five .

How irresponsible to have 11 children.

You ever heard of the crusades? I wouldn't go basing my argument on mass murderers
