Pregnant with no insurance, help

Ok so a girl I know is pregnant without any insurance. Ouachjta Parish and she makes a bit over $27k. She already has a child and can't get insurance through her work until open enrollment. She claims she applied for Medicaid but was denied due to her income.
Does anyone know any pregnancy counsellors in Monroe? Or have any suggestions? The whole situation is a mess but I'm trying to help her out, she's scared and doesn't know what to do.
Surely there are some coounsellors that can guide her through this.
I do t have pics, sorry OT. But seriously any help is much appreciated.
Edit: correction, income in $31,800

Father's pull out game is not strong.
Too late now, but why didn't she think of this prior to receiving BBC?

I thought all single and pregnant females get state funded insurance.

I thought this was against the law?
I just turned 26 and everyone is on my arse about getting on my own.

Something is wrong. Either she screwed up app or makes more than she says. She would be at least on the LaChip programs for kids.

Go to university health hospital. (I believe its conway?)
She will wait for a while but will recieve care since she is uninsured

OK this may not be a popular option with her but she needs to put this baby up for adoption. Unmarried, working, already has one baby, only makes $27k, and young enough you refer to her as girl?
Give this baby some kind of chance at a good life and do a closed adoption.

Ooooh, no insurance. Obama's gonna get you. He said everyone should have insurance but what that really means is that if you don't have insurance your arse is gonna PAY. Unless she's illegal of course, then she's cool.

If you don't have it, you pay an individual mandate when you file for your federal income tax.

this is so freaking dumb. While this chick may need health insurance, I sure as shite don't. I haven't been to a doctor or hospital in like eight years.
I'll go when I'm old. Frick off Obama.

She is still married to her ex (complicated) to get his insurance, but his company dropped all spouses who could get insurance through their own work, she's a teacher and can, but not until open enrollment. So as I understand it she's kind of in limbo.
Her hr supposedly told her that being dropped from his isn't a qualifying event. We're she to finalize the divorce she could. She's been to A lawyer to finalize but they are dragging their feet and from what she told me it could be a couple months.

A woman with a child only making $27k? She should qualify for the EITC and Medicaid .

Lots of programs have special enrollment periods specifically designed for things like having a baby. Tell her to double check.

This. No way she was denied.

This is wrong.
Either they don't know what they are talking about, or she is spinning a tale for sympathy and what really happened is that she made no attempt to get insurance when she was dropped until after she found she was preggers.....and after the special enrollment period.
