The long gun was suspected to be a .22 this morning on FB. Now it's morphed into an assault rifle?

By the way, the owners of Lakeview Harbor are the thieves. Have you seen what they're charging for cheese and sour cream on a baked potato these days?

Because this board has turned into the National Enquirer.

I'm waiting on the "pregnant with alien baby" and "I saw Elvis " threads to pop up.

Lake view is a shell of its former self? You have to be kidding. With all of the new restaurants, stores and houses, it's certainly changed. I lived in Lakeview until Katrina. It looks much better now and it's more vibrant.

This is the FB post from Lakeview Citizen Watch:
At around 11pm tonight Lakeview Harbor on Harrison Ave had 2 black males mid 20s walk in through the back door by the kitchen and held up the cooks then proceeded to the main dining room as they were closing. One had an long rifle thought to be a .22 and the other had a hand gun. The guy with the rifle fired off a shot and attempted to rob the registers but no one was behind the bar and they couldn't get in them. They must of gotten spooked and ran off. Everyone out right now be careful and anyone with video in the 6300 blocks of Argonne and Marshall Fosch please let me know. There was a handful of people still around the bar and all the staff in the place at that time and Everyone is safe. Please Share!!!

Media reports say they were wearing ski-masks. Surveillance camera footage is being reviewed, but it doesn't sound like there's much of a description to provide. We live in a city of ~350,000 that's roughly half black and half white. Announcing that the perps were black, white, or Creole doesn't really provide any information that can be used to apprehend anyone. If I had to guess, I'd say it was probably a couple of young black hoodrats, of which at least one was a previous employee or friend of an employee. Does that help you any?

You're absolutely right. If you lived in Lakeview before Katrina you wouldn't even recognize Lakeview now, outside of the same crappy streets of course. Most of the old gross looking houses have been torn down and new construction averaging $600k has soared. Harrison and City Park are almost unrecognizable also. The progress there has been amazing to see.

Crime in Lakeview if not the lowest is close to the lowest in the parish. The biggest issue is car burglaries from people leaving their cars unlocked.

damn that is scary. I lived in Lakeview 2011-2013 and I always wondered why there wasn't MORE crime.

I'm tired of reading news that only finishes the story if it has a terrible ending. It's a shame you have to read until the last line to find out, "Oh and btw, no one was injured." Why omit that from the OP?

But let me grab everyone's attention with something like

"Two masked gunmen stormed inside Lakeview Harbor restaurant and ordered 20 people to the ground during a robbery"

"Shots fired"
