A 3rd or 4th option gets the max this summer and next. Heck, some 5th options will

And I have seen a lot of people say we should do what Portland did last year. Not possible IMO. They were one of the few teams with cap room. Less competition means more controlled cost
Ain't happening these next two summers

I probably grit my teeth and do it. If he didn't have his injury history, I really wouldn't think twice. He checks too many boxes this team needs. Perimeter defense? Check (Maybe a bit overrated here, but he'd get the job done). Play-making? Check (his career AST% is more than double that of anyone who has gotten major minutes at the 3 in the last 2 years). Floor-spacing. Check.
In a vacuum, I don't think he is worth what he ends up getting, but plugged into this team, it makes too much sense. Certainly a high-risk move because he could blow out his knee in October, but this is the type of guy they need, and there aren't many of them on the market in any given year. Unfortunately, this team isn't signing any FA without overpaying. People are going to flip out over $ no matter who gets signed. Might as well swing for the fences.

Also, the fact that free spending Mark Cuban doesn't want to max him out says something. I
well to be fair, i don't think he ever really wanted to max him out in the first place
he gave that huge offer to frick over Houston and Houston didn't blink

I know for a fact Dell loved Parsons two years ago. He met with him face to face at the NBA Combine as was incredibly impressed
I have no idea if Parsons medicals have scared Dell off

Business is business. surely Cuban would rather land whiteside and/or Conley.

What is the board opinions on Evan Turner?

they will explore bringing back Ryno if the price is right, to use as an asset down the road
This is a phenomenally bad idea. I would have thought Dell would have learned that signing non-stars (with a significant injury history) to mid to max salaries only to trade later is not creating an asset. Assets are younger talents on cheap contracts.

He has a limit. Let's say 16-18 mil per
And if Ryno is healthy in February, locked in for 2.5-3.5 more seasons at 16-18 mil, he would actually be an asset. But he would have to be healthy. He gets hurt again and you might never be able to move him, similar to Gordon
Big risk, medium reward IMO. I agree, I'd rather not do it

tell us about the medical staff and any changes please.
is it incompetence, willful ignorance or galactic bad luck? Or all of the above?
nothing they do and nobody they sign is going to make any difference if they cannot get them on the court

I would say 80% bad luck, 10% our coaches and GMs not holding players out when they should have, and 10% lack of elite level resources
But they have been adding resources every year and are at the same level or better than most of the league when it comes to number of people, equipment, etc. and they are adding more. Honestly, so much of it is luck in the NBA. Portland's staff hasn't gotten worlds better, but they had the most injury luck in the league last year and some of the worst Lillards rookie year
Hard to know how to fix luck. The other stuff they are working on

Like I said THEY will announce things in the future. Not me. Be patient. Enjoy free agency and maybe a trade or two

That's Miss Chanandler Parsons!
And the most I would offer is $20 million.
