He needs to explain why ever other creature is inferior too our adaptation on an alien planet. The Native Americans were correct in their philosophy of being one with mother Earth, IMO

My dog likes reggae.
She's kinda rowdy. So I'll turn some reggae on and she'll just come and lay down and relax until it switches to a different genre.
I might try some metal and see if that makes her go crazy or start a moshpit or something.

Your theory has been debunked by the seal playing a saxophone.

Unsure how a species from another planet completely would be able to mate with one that evolved on a completely different planet...but whatevs.

One theory i've heard is before Noah's flood in the Bible (ive read most major ancient civilizations have a similar story of a great flood) the earth could have been surrounded by a a thick watery layer in the sky. The earth was like a planetarium that was fed with a a mist, instead of rains. When the Earth flooded, the water came down, flooded the earth and then became the frozen poles leaving us without the protective layer. Much less protection from the sun decreased life expectancy. Also would contribute to this i guess:
Our earth changing is more believable than us coming from another planet.

If we evolved on this planet, why does just standing up on it hurt us?
Silver argues that the gravity on our home planet must've been stronger, and so we're progressively growing taller and taller with each generation, causing us to have bad backs.

or perhaps we originated on a planet with lots of cloud cover.

The current scientific hypotheses and theories are much more believable than us coming from another planet or fantasy bible stories.

Did you miss this part?
most major ancient civilizations have a similar story of a great flood
Dont dismiss it just because you dont want to believe the Bible. Im not saying thats exactly what happened, just offering another theory.

Bad backs - we are from the great ape family and have evolved to walk uprright. This transition isn't completely seamless and has its consequences, particularly as we grow older or perform manual labor for a number of years. Before modern medicine humans lived much shorter lives. We aren't built to last as long as we do now.
Childbirth - we have evolved to be a less physically imposing ape with smaller muscle mass and smaller skeletal structure while at the same time increasing our cranium's grey matter. This combined with smaller hips causes great risks during childbirth but not enough to cause significant population dips and besides, we have basically circumvented this problem via C-sections with modern medicine.
Sunburn - there are untouched Aboriginal and African tribes that do just fine in the sun all day. Most of modern society, through many generations, have become less resistant to UV rays because we have used clothing for so long (thousands and thousands of years).
We don't like it here - that's a highly subjective assumption. Some of us DO like it here. However, many Behavioral Scientists and Psychologists acknowledge that our artificially created surroundings can cause depression as we are not originally adapted to this environment. It's the reason some people feel so connected to the Earth when they go camping, hiking etc.
Look, the author is basically trying to make an argument for Panspermia. It's totally possible as we know some microbial life can survive the vacuum of space and reentry into our atmosphere. Until more concrete evidence can be provided then it's speculation. Although it is pretty interesting.

Pretty much every story in the Old Testament of The Bible and other religious books are in the Sumerian tablets which predate any and all other writings.

Yes, we can be killed by any of the top 50 predators in a one on one unarmed scenario.
But we can also kill them hand to hand sometimes even though we are extremely weak. If given tools, the weakest of us can easily kill the strongest of them.
We have also decimated nearly all predator species as a species... for no real benefit.
We are truly psychotic apes infesting this place.
Bingo!!!!

Some of his points are fun conversation pieces. I don't know if I believe him, but there is still so much we don't know. Also my wife pushed out my daughter after about 10 mins of pushing and then got up and hour later and walked to the bathroom.

The fact that humans have to spend hours screaming in pain to bring new life into the world, whereas the rest of the animal kingdom can drop a sprog in their sleep, has long puzzled anthropologists. Why is it such an ordeal for us to have kiddies when it's literally our only biological purpose?

Is there no benefit to generally not having to spend much of our days worrying about other predators?

Humans have become the apex predator in many areas. Thanks to our large brains (construction of tools, ability to communicate abstract ideas effectively (make plans)) and ability to work as a team we were able to take down prey much larger than ourselves and larder than what other predators might be able to bring down. We were also able to take down said predators due to both being a threat to our food source and a threat to our well being.
Humans have never been off the menu for certain animals. Leopards, crocodiles, and more than likely tigers have always taken humans when given the chance. Hell, hyenas are known to take a bite out of someone should they fall asleep outside of their tent around the fire.
That's not existing outside.

No real benefit? Reduced competition for prey species is a direct benefit. Larger predators control populations of smaller predators everywhere. Why do you think coyotes have been so successful? Because there are no wolves in areas that used to have wolves. It's called "mesopredator release." We've also seen increases in things like skunks and raccoons. (But there is a case to be made for raccoons and coyotes being generalists and very adaptable to the human landscape.)
If humans didn't evolve here, why are so many of the population so insanely afraid of snakes and spiders? Besides, the fact that there remains a lot of megafauna in places like Africa and Asia is evidence that those large animals evolved in conjunction with humans.

I'm no anthropologist, but I'm sure music developed out of group storytelling and whatnot. And as it developed music definitely became a way for dudes to get laid.
But you're right, a mechanism that promoted group cohesion and led to seduction has no evolutionary value...
Quit being silly.
