I mean I would think more people have died at Disney by lightning strikes than have been bit by alligators.
According to the Incidents at Walt Disney World wikipedia page, you would be wrong. Gators: 1, Lightning: 0.

We should protest and demand that The University of Florida change their mascot so as to be more sensitive to the victims of Alligator attacks.
Cotton mouths?
Anyway, here's what a gator thinks about the notion of fenced off areas.

On January 28, 2016, an Orlando-area attorney announced that he had been retained by a family involved in a biting incident at the park. According to the attorney, in October 2014, a snake fell out of a tree onto a group of guests in a public area of the theme park. The animal bit an eight-year-old boy that it landed on, causing the boy's grandmother to suffer cardiac arrest and die soon afterwards

On April 1, 2010, a nine-year-old boy was crushed to death by a Disney transportation bus at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground while he was riding his bicycle with an 11-year-old friend.[

That's like a law school test question, if I ever saw one.

I'm not sure what you are trying to prove, though.

So are you trying to suggest that Disney World is somehow inherently unsafe, or simply pointing out that when you have that many people in an area the likelihood of someone getting hurt or killed increases exponentially?

On February 11, 2004, a 38-year-old employee dressed as Pluto was killed at the Magic Kingdom when he was run over by the Beauty and the Beast float in the Share a Dream Come True Parade.

Was there over Mardi Gras and stayed at Polynesian and watched fireworks from edge of that same area.
Scary!
Definitely should have signs warning of alligators if that was the case and those signs are not there.
It does say stay out of water but you know every kid and most adults go right up to the water to take pictures and stuff.
I wonder if they would have looked a little longer if they might have saved him being so close to shore unless he washed back up.

It's a Small World
On August 18, 1994, a 6-year-old girl from Miami, Florida, fell out of one of the ride's boats while it was in the loading area. Orange County authorities believe she was then struck by an incoming boat. The girl suffered a broken hip, a broken arm and a collapsed lung, but was expected to recover fully

Ok, ok, where did Mickey touch you?

quote:It's not completely safe anywhere ever. Again, there was a better chance of this kid dying from a ride in the park, on the monorail, or on one of the buses.
Which implies that it is completely safe near the water's edge
quote:It suggests that Disney didn't think it was a necessary. Just like they don't warn you that a bus could crash or the monorail could crash or a sink hole could open up (happens often in Florida) or that a snake could bike you or that a Lion in animal kingdom could escape or a teacup could go flying off the track. Disney doesn't warn about those things. But what do they do? They take precautions to prevent these things from happening. They did the same the gators. Actively searching for them and removing them.
There are gator warning signs all over the place in Florida, so the absence of a sign near a private busy well maintained body of water suggests there are no gators there

In March 2010, a 4-year-old boy from San Diego, California, suffered severe burns to his face and neck after being scalded by a cup of hot nacho cheese. The accident occurred when the boy sat down to dinner in an unstable chair and grabbed a food tray to prevent himself falling, resulting in the cheese falling off of the food tray and into his lap.
