Hoping a sequel happens. The first movie was fantastic and powerful. Changed a lot of peoples lives.

Didn't see the 1st one, but did it end with him on the cross? If so, is this project supposed to focus on the three days leading up to the resurrection or the 40 days up to the Ascension? I would be interested to see Mel's cinematic vision of the actual resurrection.

If he wants to make some money on this film, he should get Melisandre to do the resurrection.

I've never seen Passion and really have no desire to based on the descriptions and clips I've seen of the violent nature of it. Just was never into that kind of thing no matter the subject matter.
But if this sequel were to concentrate on Saul/Paul, I'd definitely check it out. I always found him to be fascinating and I think his life would make for a great movie if done right.

This is actually the perfect movie for endless sequels. Each time they can use a larger cross and bigger nails. And repeat endlessly via resurrection. A bit of a Star Wars rip off but it's Hollywood so who cares really.

I guess Hollywood has to actually support this considering how much The Passion made.
Much to their chagrin.

We're definitely gonna need separate book reader and nonreader threads for this one.

Passion and Apocalypto are both very, very good movies. If anybody but Mel Gibson made them, they'd be held in higher regard.
I know people don't like the violence in passion but it doesn't detract from the movie in my opinion.
I'd see this sequel.

Most Hollywood producers and ad execs ultimately worship one god: money. They will produce and market anything that makes money. There is a long list of things that caused Gibson's fall from grace, and being a Christian is on the low end of the list.

can't think of a much more enticing movie concept for me than "Mel Gibson makes a very realistic and highly violent movie about Vikings". Get off your drunken arse and make that movie.
I'd pay to see that.
The Passion was always one of those movies, like Titanic, that I figured there couldn't be a sequel to.

The Passion, as it's name suggests, was strictly limited to the crucifixion. So I'd assume any sequel would have to be about Acts and revolve around Peter and/or Paul. Should also be renamed too but whatever.

Mel Gbson is a legit...must see dirertor. I am in all in he does it.
Wish he did more historical epics.
Some Aussie aboriginal/English colonial epic would be cool. Or remake Zulu or Ghengis Kahn. Little Big Horn. Battle of Kadesh.

A good Little Big Horn movie could be sweet-- especially with Gibson's languages thing.
It's kind of a classic story of a guy buying into his own hype and the cost of hubris.
