Syndrome is one of the great Supervillains. The original antagonist was originally supposed to be just a Blofield rip-off, and Syndrome was supposed to start off the movie as a fanboy who abducts someone in order for Mr. Incredible to come visit him, but they found him to be a much more interesting villain and was changed halfway through development.
I'm surprised he's not a much more common trope with supervillains: Fanboy gone bad. Really, aside from Syndrome who is there? Red Hood?

Jason Lee was the perfect voice actor for Syndrome.

Would you count the German gun fighter in Three Amigos?

The problem with an Incredibles sequel, and Brad Bird has stated this as well, is how do you top Syndrome? He's a wholly original villain (yes they took the powers from Green Lantern but who cares) that had never been done before. He wiped out like 90% of superheroes. How can you beat him? He's among the most effective supervillains in history alongside Ozymandias and Ledger's Joker. And the second film these days has to have the best villain. That's hard to top.
Seriously, this scene is just great. He thinks he murdered Mr. Incredible, he's satisfied for a bit and then I'm sure he gets pissed behind the scenes that his idol was not able to stand up to him, and then its revealed he survives, he probably pisses himself in joy that he idolized the right guy. How can you not love a villain with this much passion?: LINK

Love the original have no idea what to expect for episode 2. It bothers me that it took this long for a sequel but I have hopes it can hold up.
As for a bad guy I hope it is Jak Jak.
Maybe rip Hulk off a bit with mindless rampaging
or go off the angle of Syndrome planting seeds for turning Jak dark. TDK
or teenage angst mixed with unstoppable powers that surpasses your dad leaving you unchecked and the whole family would need to stop him and bring him back.
Maybe Jak becomes a hot comodity on the open market. Governments want him, Villian organisations, etc and his Parents see what everyone is trying to do and try to cling to and protect their son to prevent him from becoming an instrument of destruction for the wrong side or for someone else's agenda

I'm wondering if it'll be a super relative of 1 of the supers that Syndrome killed but Mr. Incredible didn't suit back up for until after it was too late & now they want revenge...

I agree with most of what you said but this is just plain silly. While the villain is important in all superhero movies, the second film in a trilogy or series definitely does not necessarily have to have the best villain just because of The Dark Knight.

Obviously, The Underminer needs to be dealt with based on the ending of the first one.

The "You're really not all that hot shite" message of the Incredibles is really great for a children's movie. I'm so sick of the "You're fricking awesome" message that is being sent to kids these days, because that's turned them into entitled coddled monsters.
