I am looking at a couple of 2016 JKU Rubicon Hardrock. So far I've been quoted 4K off MSRP. Is that standard or am I getting a good deal?

Make sure to learn the Jeep wave so when you're driving your Jeep, all of your buddies in other Jeeps will know that you are also driving a Jeep

Don't expect to really get much off on a Jeep Wrangler...esp a Rubicon. Those things sell themselves so dealerships don't have to really work hard to sell them.

My husband has a 2015 JKU Rubicon Hardrock and sometimes I think he loves that jeep more than me. Good luck and enjoy your Jeep

Buy a used cj or TJ if you want a jeep and then buy a decent truck or suv. You will come ahead

I hope you get this in time.

Thinking of picking one up this month, probably a custom order to get a 6MT Hard Rock.

4K under MSRP is not bad. There is better if you want though, but not by much. If you can wait, you can sign up for Tread Lightly for $100. Through them you can get affiliate pricing on all Jeeps, which is a maximum of 1% under invoice plus reduced fees they can charge.

Chrysler kicks back 1% of the MSRP to the dealer, plus their holdback already. You can negotiate further from there, but 1% under invoice is the max you will pay. The reduced fees they can charge helps as well. The one negative, you have to wait 30 days from sign up to use your affiliate control number.

I suggest joining or lingering around wranglerforum.com. Tons of great info and help there.

I have a 2003 TJ with the inline 6. I've also owned a 1970 CJ-5 and a 1980 CJ-5.

What kind of package are you getting? Upgraded suspension, lift kit, winch, etc?

Two years ago I was deciding between a pro4x xterra and a rubicon.

Got the nissan dealer down to 34k with everything in it under the sun and ordering the lift at their cost through them.

Was in the middle of test driving the jeep when the salesman asked what I thought. Told him I didn't like the price or the power and was leaning to the pro4x at 34k.

He responded with, I can do 34.

They will make a deal if you present other options.

Eta: 2 door rubicon.

I think starting a thread with "random board: " is frowned upon, especially when it makes little sense. A board for a specific vehicle, as if.

Unless you've got some jack to throw away, don't buy a brand new Wrangler.

My question is why the hell do you want to spend 45k on a Jeep? Why do you want to spent that much on a car period?

Brand new rubicons are BEASTS on trails and hills. if your actually gonna use it who cares if your getting a good deal, as long as you aren't getting ripped off. It's difficult to find much parity when buying new. Don't listen to these old bastards who think cause a car is 30 years old and they drove it when they could still get pussy it's better than one built today. A stock 2016 rubicon will outperform any old CJ or wrangler any day.

Sometimes in my Ford I'll wave to people in Jeeps or motorcycles and those dorks wave back because they give me the benefit of the doubt that I'm one of them, in another vehicle.

Grand Cherokee or nothing. The wranglers are cool cars, but I like creature comforts and extra space

If I were to buy a Jeep it would be to take it Off-Roading with that said, I would buy a base model and build it the way I wanted.
It's comical the amount of newer Rubicons that have 15k-20k in upgrades that you see driving around.
You can't beat a solid axle for rock climbing.

Good luck to you...ride with the top down as much as possible and enjoy. My only regret is not buying one in my twenties. Too busy with hot Stangs.

Now I have an 05 Ruby...just ordered a Teraflex 3" and GY MT/Rs so i can sling mud better.

I'm lucky as i have a little property and mudbogs behind my house...I don't wash it as it's just gonna get muddy again.

Enjoy!
