The Blue Wahoo's stadium in Pensacola is very nice... but With a seating capacity of 5,038 thats a problem .. wish LSU would have had that designer.

Not saying Alex box is not good .. it's just that "Good" not special like many of those minor league parks.

Very Nice

It is great to go back and see how much it has grown since 5 years ago. One of my favorite places to visit. Go at least twice a year

I'm almost afraid to see that, when I go back. When I lived there, Hacks Cross south of Winchester, was a 2 lane road. Nonconnah Parkway had only opened to Quince.

Crime is still a very real issue, and has actually gotten worse this year. However, between the Grizzlies, Bass Pro, Beale St really booming, Soith Main continuing to grow, the Zoo continuing to improve, St Jude, the growing restaurant scene (which has gotten a lot of coverage on Food Network), and the rebirth of Overton Square, there are also a lot of positive things happening right now.

I just hope that the renewed civic pride from these positives gets people to wake up, get over the apathy and pessimism they has been so prevalent here for so long, and come together. The city and county governments have really been portly run here for a long time, but there are a lot of grassroots movements that are trying to make a difference. I hope they can succeed where the local governments have failed so miserably.

Despite the crime problems in some areas of Memphis, the area around the stadium has been a highly travelled and very safe place for several years. I'm sure the city would go all out to insure such a big event would go over well.

I would LOVE being able to cheer on my Tigers from a good seat at AutoZone, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

Now that it is OK for teams to hold satellite camps all over the country why can't a conformance hold a tournament lets say in Glendale AZ at Camelback Ranch.

I know it will never happen but there are a lot of good vacation spots it could be held and the SEC could show other areas of the country how to play baseball.

Damn, you've been gone a while. I think that leg of Bill Morris opened up when I was in HS. Like 92 or 93. In the next year or so, 385/I-269 will go all the way from Tunica, MS to Millington, TN, with Bill Morris being the center link to I-40.

I moved back here in 2000, and downtown was really coming back to life thanks to the Redbirds and AutoZone, Beale St, and the Grizzlies. However, the early 2000s recession and then the 08 collapse killed all of that for a while. Things were pretty negative here for several years. That tide has really only started to turn over the last 2-3 years, but it is picking up speed. Downtown is really picking back up again. Lots of small town homes and condos being built all over. Several old derelict buildings have been or are being refurbished. It's good to see and I really hope it continues.

AutoZone would really be a good fit, as long as the city makes accommodations for the RVs. That could be done with shuttles to Tiger Lane at the Fairgrounds, which would have the room. I know a lot of people will instantly dismiss Memphis as a destination, but there are several new attractions, restaurants, and hotels that have popped up in the last 2-3 years. I just feel safer in New Orleans than I do in Memphis, so that should tell you something! Memphis IS New Orleans just with a lot less culture! Also, Beale Street was not impressive to me, but that is just my opinion. Went about 3 years ago and won't be back anytime soon.

7,000 capacity, is where it needs to be! This would be a good choice. You get sellouts, and a little standing room makes it a great atmosphere. Corpus has some great entertainment for non-game days.

If the new Nashville Sounds ballpark is an option, everyone should be hoping for that. Awesome new ballpark, and a great city.

I've lived in the Memphis area most of my life and have never been affected by crime in any way. I was much more nervous walking around NO during my time at LSU and in my more recent return trips, even in a group, than I feel in downtown Memphis. I like NO, but it has its own political, crime, and poverty problems that run just as deep.

It also has a dump of a baseball stadium that should automatically eliminate it from hosting the SEC Tourney. All of the other competitors have far nicer and newer parks. All are more centrally located, as well.

Having spent a decent amount of time in each place recently, this is just crazy. Memphis has its fair share of crime, but it's nothing like NOLA.

I agree here. We weren't exactly there on a big weekend though. Still didn't stop us from having a good time and eating good BBQ.

Beale is a nice place to hit a few clubs and see and hear live music, but it isn't anything like the French Quarter. It's just one street. But you have some other areas that offer something a little different, if blues and R&B bands aren't your thing. Check out Overton Square and South Main for a little different nightlife atmosphere.

This is a positive for something like a baseball tournament.

Just 1 street is easier for Memphis PD to police than the entire FQ where NOLA PD simply proves daily they don't have the manpower to protect tourists & citizens.

Hosting any major event in NOLA again without a serious overhaul/upgrade of the police department is absolutely irresponsible & asking for trouble. The public just isn't safe down there.
