but wasn't the player basically suspended while the criminal stuff was gong on?
i'm not defending Briles here, but the issues seem to be more on other parts of the machine
It was more of just everyone fricking up it seems than it was one person.

Honestly is pretty ridiculous and absurd just how tight knit the Baylor bubble is and how much of a blind eye has been turned.
It's a tiny school filled w/conservative Baptists that has historically been terrible at football located in a dumpy town that all the big city folk rip on. It's best known for a religious cult getting burned to death in a stand off w/the Feds.
That's ground zero for the kind of people who group think themselves into a massive delusional persecution complex. A shite load of them have essentially been taught their religion is under attack and to distrust the media and govt from birth so it's no surprise that when their football team got good they were quick to believe all the rape allegations were simply lies meant to bring them down.

Phil Bennett stepping into the John L Smith role

There's a pretty damning timeline that can bring you up to speed pretty quickly.
Here's the LINK
so they took a questionable transfer and when he acted up, he never played a down for the team until he was convicted?
going to need more than that

art + kendall is a really good recruiting tag team
briles comes off as one of those "good ole baw" types that players love. i think he'd do well at a big school
that's all assuming he'd leave the state of TX, which is unlikely
He'd have to lay low for a while before he could ever set foot in another major program IMO. I can't see anybody wanting to touch him now.

Firing a coach after spring training for an off the field scandal means you're going to have a very rough year.
If they keep the rest of the staff, they probably go 10+ wins again. Their schedule is easy and Briles' son is more than capable of running their offense at a high level
The distraction/players leaving will be the wildcard

I wonder how much the NCAA will look into this. Specifically about Briles involvement. Guy should be have a lifetime show-cause if he was involved in a cover up.

Aggy rejoice now...

He's also 60+. Hard to imagine he is looking to revitalize another program.

It would be absurd to argue that Art Briles wasn't aware of the multiple alleged assaults that were covered up
were any players who were convicted of a crime (while a BU student) allowed to play for baylor?

I guess the only reason they promoted the DC instead of Kendall is the optics of another Briles at the helm. Defense was not exactly Baylor's strength

That report has to be bad for them to fire Briles.

Ok, here is the timeline on the other rapey things going on there as well.
LINK
That timeline was basically just what was relevant to Sam Ukwuachu.

well i'm speaking hypothetically hiring him a year or 2 ago
he's fricked right now moving forward

The NCAA shouldn't give him a show cause. This has nothing to do with them.
If he is guilty of the things he is accused of, no team should hire him anyways.

I think out of the two convicted, one did.
Someone probably knows better than I do.

Wow. Good on them. Didn't think they'd actually do it.
