Gotham pizza, 852 8th; is nothing special, but sometimes you just need a cheap pepperoni slice and a chance to sit for a while. Nothing wrong w/hot fast n cheap.
Or, walk the relatively short distance to Bryant Park, where you can choose from a 'wichcraft (Tom Colicchio's sandwich chain), a waffle stand, and a couple other places in the park. Nearby is a Maison Kayser if you want ham n cheese croissants or other savory pastry to go, as well as a Blue Bottle Coffee.
