I always thought a well scripted movie or short series on Storyville would be interesting. New Orleans in the 1910s was a fascinating place. Creation of Jazz, open prostitution, Italian and Irish immigration...I'd watch this for sure.

Add in the 2027 NOLA/Buck Pick swap too. Just trying to get #3 without giving up Herb

Any chance this flys:

Sixers
Giannis

Pelicans
#3

Bucks
#7
Paul George (who they flip)
2006 NOLA Swap Rights pick

I could see Morey and Sixers go for it with Tatum out and now Garland out.

Does #7 and the coveted 2026 Bucks pick get #3?
#1 on Fanspo
#1 on Tankathon

Could be an excellent omen or the highlight of the week?
The 2-part Rewatchables podcast just done on the movie was great. Very informative about QT and his complete owning of the film and its process.

McCoy - With and Without

Posted by brbandit on 10/9/24 at 8:59 am
A lot is said about Carr and the OL injuries, but here is a slightly different thread on the issue. I took an Adderall and broke down the impact the McCoy injury drive by drive.

With McCoy as the Center, the Saints engineered scoring drives on 17 of their first 21 drives, including a FG on the drive that he was inured.
81% of their drives; we scored.

Without McCoy, the Saints have only scored on 8 of their 26 drives. His absence resulted in us only scoring on a mere 31% of drives.

When he returns, I think we can regain control of the line and return to the team we saw in Weeks 1 +2.

Non-Stick Frying Pan

In the market for a new set of everyday, quality non-stick pans. 8", 10" and 12" pans.

Thanks in advance.
Ate there last night. Here are my thoughts:

Incredible ambiance. You’re eating in a small French cottage. Has a VERY limited menu. 4 appetizers (caviar, fois gras, Pasta, salad) and 3 entrees (chicken, pork, fish) And about 5 wines options. No bar.

Food was prepared quite well and tasted good; not great but pretty good.

A little pricey. Nothing like this in Lafayette. Give it a shot.

Warriors Get Jrue, Trade Wiggins and #2

Wizards Get #2, #13 and Wiggins

Pelicans Get Beal

Do you think that is enough for Wizards?

Garwoods is right on the Lake. Sunnyside, River Ranch

All in North Lake Tahoe
Thanks, I'll be trying Poseidon and Zorbas very soon.
I am new to Lafayette and craving some good mediterranean food. What are the names of the best places in the City to get all of the usual suspects: schwarmma, hummus, grape leaves, gyro, etc?

Thanks
We just moved to the area from Houston recently and its awesome. Its our go-to in Lafayette, now. The place knows what it is and doesn't try to be something that it is not.

Street tacos are so damn good.

Jerry Stovall is being criminally disrespected in this thread. 1962 Heisman Runner-up, should have won it. Would have been 2 Heismans for LSU in 4 years.
Not my experience at all. Maybe in Northern VA in the DC Suburbs that is the case, but I spend a great deal of time in Richmond and Tidewater and they all embrace their "Southern" stature.
Yeah, great podcast.

I was surprised by the gap in years since Damn had worked with Weinstein. I assumed by the level of shite that Damon received, that they worked together often but it appears not since the late 90s/early 2000s had he done a film for Weinstein.
Admittedly I have never been to French Laundry so I dont know what kind of magic happens in there, but I loved a couple of spots in Yountville. Bistro Jeanty and Bouchon, both in Yountville were really really good.

Also, I hear a really high-end place is the dining table at the Culinary Institute in St Helena.

I wasn’t impressed with Masonary in Yountville. I found that they were more focused on decor and art than wine. Cool place though.

Try Jessup across the street. Great Cab.
I don't post often, but I felt compelled to join in.

About 2008, I dined on a tasting menu at Citronelle in Washington DC. It has since closed in 2012 due to a flood and Chef Michel Richard passed in 2016. But this dish was unreal.

It came in a caviar tin and when you opened the lid, it looked exactly like caviar. I almost returned it because it was not my order. But in reality it was small piece of squid ink pasta packed tightly on top of butter poached lobster in hollandaise and a lightly cooked fried egg. So rich and delicious.

Obviously it was great that I am still talking about it 10 years later.

For seafood, visit Fiola Mare in Georgetown at Washington Harbor. The recommendation of Tosca is spot on, amazing Italian.

Also on U street, check our Pearl Dive, a cool, laid back but quality place to grab a bite.
