Not really I mainly fish the front but when I have 2 on the back it doesn't pose a problem. You have to cast from the side. when you are standing on the back deck you can put your beer up there pretty much eye level.

all T-tops will get in the way when casting but you get used to it. The shade during the summer is worth it. We have 4 holders in T-top and 4 on the leaning post.

I have a 24' bay stealth, and put a T Top on about three years ago, by far some of the best money I have ever spent on my boat. The shade is just unbeatable, especially with young kids on the boat in the summer.
I fish in the back and the front of it, it really doesn't get in the way if you are paying attention to what you are doing. I would have no issue with one on a 22'.
Also I have grommets on my t top for using console rod holders they work, not made by fishmaster, can't remember who makes them but they work well.

as someone who learned how to fish being stuck of the middle of the boat (thanks to my dad and his buddies) i can cast all kinds of crazy ways. side cast being one of them.
i've noticed that is usually the old guys that can't remember to allow for the t-top (or my hat, my shirt, my kids pants....)

Haha, me too. My grandpa used to make me cast with the lure outside of the boat at all times. I get anxious now when people start casting around me.

I always fish the front and I have to keep an eye out for anyone fishing near the top (generally not the best casters to begin with) so they don't snag me when casting

I really don't know how some people fish during the summer without shade

So it looks like paying someone to install would be $8-900 and the t-top is $1000...does anyone know if a custom t-top shop installs for free? Might be worth the extra $ if they install the t-top too.

After looking at the Stryker t tops they are very nice and straight foward. I feel you could do it yourself but if you are nervous or not very mechanically inclined I wouldn't drill holes in the floor. 1000$ to install a 1000$ t top is pretty outrageous. I'd shop around

Yeah, I don't trust myself to install a t-top. Speakers and rod holders are one thing, a t-top is another.

I did it myself & it really wasn't bad. Lined it up and marked my holes then drilled them slowly. 4 screws in each leg with some 3M 5200 under. Hardest part was getting the stabilizer bars attached to the console since I didn't have much room to work under mine.

I just had a custom one made for my 23' epic. I looked at the Stryker and almost pulled the trigger but I was worried about drilling into my new boat as well as the supports to the console. I wound up bringing to coastline marine in sea rook Tx where they custom fab t tops. All 2 inch alum and did a hell of a job. They cut the canvases to allow rod passage as well as install the anchor light. It was 1k more to go this route vs the Stryker. This one also came with 4 rocket launchers on the back

Got the Stryker and lost the holders on the console. Absolutely hate the ones on top of the t-top. Tangles everything to shite if there is any chop. I've had pre tied stuff break off and tangle in ways that seem to defy logic. We ride with rods on the floor more often now because of it. It's a terrible habit and eventually I'm sure we'll step on one and break one.
