Flying under the radar
They do make a valid point though. All the talent is there. Can we execute though?

It's a joke they don't even have a author for their article

SEC: LSU
This one is a little tough for me, because I think this team might be the most talented in the SEC. But I honestly don’t even know what to think of what the mental state of the LSU Tigers will be this season. Sure, a team with Leonard Fournette and a defense like it has should be near the top of the playoff charts, but remember all that late-season drama in Baton Rouge? You know, the whole Les Miles was maybe going to be fired, then he wasn’t fired, then everyone loved him? Well, what happens if the Tigers lose early? Is he out? What about a loss to Alabama? Gone then? No matter the talent -- or the supposed improvement of embattled quarterback Brandon Harris -- we have no clue how this team and coaching staff will react to adversity. I can’t trust a team that has to walk a tightrope all season long and could crumble at the first misstep. -- Edward Aschoff

I think this is a fair question.

While I do agree with what they had to say about LSU, I disagree with us being "overrated"

It's a blogger not "ESPN".

Arent they the ones that put us at #1? I guess they are arguing with themselves?
Posted on 5/17/16 at 12:55 pm to SmoothOperator96
yea probably not wrong. We usually finish worse than the projections.

I was thinking the same thing

-LSU was supposedly firing Miles after the A&M win.
-LSU was completely outclassed against three divisional opponents.
-LSU, to date, has still had quarterback issues.
-LSU's special teams were nauseating last year.
-LSU's defense was very lackluster last season. Obviously, we have a new defensive coordinator, but will we experience growing pains? Scheme confusion? Who knows?
-We've got road games @ Wisconsin, @Auburn, @ Florida, @ Arkansas, @ A&M.
I'm not plugging them into the Playoffs just yet...

The article has 1 team from each power conference. In the SEC, I think most would agree, going into the fall, that LSU/Bama/Tenn are the 3 most likely teams to get to the playoff. So you would have to choose 1, and you aren't choosing Bama. That leaves LSU/Tenn. and one of them plays in the east. That's just my analysis

The burden of proof rests with Les.
He can prove them wrong in November.

While it's clearly a click bait tactic since ESPN are the main ones picking LSU to go to the playoffs, it's a legit point.
LSU has to play the three teams that kicked their teeth in last year. That is enough to question LSU making the playoffs.
