So I went ahead and got a pair of Kingsville Red bulls. The male is quite orange and comes from a just electric red dam. Hoping he colors up to her level. The female is deep in blue but from the pics the breeder sent me she isn't quite as bright as he is. Also picked up an Louisiana Pine as well.

Just got them this morning. They were a little pissy but not terrible. No strikes.

Congrats! Cool snakes.
I've taken over a pair of western hognose that belonged to my daughter, but she lost interest in them. I'm thinking about selling them and replacing them with something I'd rather have. I kind of wanted to breed them this year, but I haven't put much effort into it. If I do, I'll probably still just sell them and all the offspring and get something else.

What are you thinking about getting?

I have to say, while I thoroughly enjoy my drymarchon so far, that this whole pituophis group really has me interested. Just the bullsnakes alone have so many localities and the morphs are pretty interesting as well. Also they are a fraction of the cost of the drys. So you get big colubrids at a low cost with a wide array of colors and patterns. Also they are good eaters and lay big clutches. Its an all around win for me as a hobbyist.

I don't really know yet. I have a few that have been on my want list for a while.
Tiger ratsnake (Spilotes pullatus)
Black tailed cribo (Drymarchon melanurus)
Giant keeled rat snake (Ptyas carinata)
True red tailed boa (Boa constrictor constrictor)

They have almost endless energy and don’t seem to stop after 10-20 strikes as most snakes do, they can continue more than 60 times.

I still loathe photobucket for what they’ve done to this thread.

Well, I'm usually viewing it on my iphone or in Firefox. It still shows the big ugly upgrade image with the meter on it.

So I got home and handled the new snakes. Bulls are fine. LA Pine is quite the little bastard but I am sure he will calm down. Walked into the snake room to the foulness that is drymarchon crap. Here is one of the culprits. 9 months old. Growing like a weed.

Little friend stopped in my warehouse today...a light colored southern black racer?

Yeah, whichever subspecies of racer you have wherever you are. Definitely a light-colored one (for my neck of the woods anyway).
