I saw this guy last week. Still dirty from a winter underground.

Very nice. We had a 20+ inch brown basilisk lizard hanging out along the woods next to the parking lot at work last fall. I wonder if it survived the cold winter. Idk where it came from, but I'm hoping I can get some decent pictures of it

I had one of those when I was a kid. I bought from the "snake man" at the local flea market. LOL. I've always loved reptiles, but it's a shame that so many exotics have been introduced in FL (and other places). Are you in FL?

Identical to this. 20-24 inches. Ran with its body high off the ground. Seen 4 different times by 3 people, including myself, last fall

Yeah definitely. The other 2 that saw it were women and they wanted it killed.

Nice photos and great finds! I saw your photo of the water snake (Nerodia sp.) on the Snake I.D. page this morning.

Yeah I had a feeling it wasn't a water moccasin, but I wasn't sure since it's body was above the water. It was pretty big and had a big head. I guessed right

Yeah, it is doing a little bit of the cottonmouth float. Until I zoomed in on my phone, I was guessing cottonmouth too.

Does anyone have any experience keeping bullsnakes?

I've never kept bullsnakes, but I think they're pretty straight forward like other north american colubrids. Room temp, with a warm spot, feed every 5-14 days depending on age and size, etc.

We used to catch them when I lived in Nebraska. Easy to care for like Teague said and pretty docile.

Thats what I figured. I have been in touch with the most reputable and highly recommended breeder I could find. They of course have nothing but great things to say about them so I was just trying to get opinions from non biased keepers. The next toughest part is choosing between all the various localities. They all have great features in pattern and color and the variance from snake to snake is super wide. Makes it hard to choose.
