Where was Nick Fury? And I don't think I even heard his name referenced one time.

Only a small handful of people know he's alive (some members of the Agents of Shield TV team, Cap, Falcon, Maria Hill, Widow). He is in hiding.

I love how they didn't rehash Spidey's origin story. Stark asked and he could've gone through teh whole nine yards, but everyone knows it. He didn't need to even say it and it's funny that his words make him sound more like he should be on Cap's side of things.

T'Challa was kickass. I really hope they show that he's as much a genius as Stark in later movies.

Ant Man going Giant Man was an awesome moment too.

I think that was an intentional red herring, as well as setting up any future interaction Spidey and Cap may have.

In the comics, Spidey changed sides at the end. While watching CW, after those lines, I kinda expected him to help Cap escape at the airport.

Spidey was really well done.

I've been wanting to get back into comics and this movie intrigued me enough to start up again. The Marvel app has a 99-cent sale on every comic revolving around the Civil War. I know there's 7 of the main books for this, but it shows there's 112 comics revolving around it. What are some of the side issues I should read on this?

I tend to stick to the 7 main books for Civil War.

If you have particular characters you really like, you can grab the side stories from those as well, but it's really not required and I think a few of them actually make the motivations more confusing.

I've always felt that most of the crossovers are cash grabs by the industry so that's always turned me off a bit though.

I'm not reading anything current, but do like going back and reading older (ie completed) stories.

While not related to Civil War, I highly recommend DC's "Kingdom Come" series and Marvel's "Marvels" series.

The only thing I didn't really like about the movie was the camera work for the fight scene in Lagos. All of the early action scenes were shot way too close up I thought and it was (intentionally) difficult to gain perspective on what all was going on, especially with Black Widow and Cap.

I enjoyed the final battles more, especially between IM and Cap/Bucky as you could clearly see the punches and moves. Albeit choreographed, seeing them all of the combo's and the full force of their punches made me appreciate and enjoy those scenes more.

I agree. While the action was cool, I'm not sure what the early camera work was trying to do. Maybe it had something to do with enhancing CGI during daytime scenes?

I'm glad that was limited mainly to the beginning.

I just got out a bit ago and wow. This movie was great. I took my mom as a Mother's Day deal. She is not a comic book fan, just enjoys movies, and she liked it.

As a comic book nerd, I loved it. I want to see it a dozen more times.

I swore they were going to kill off Cap at the end and that be what causes the Avengers to come back together, but it seems like the team will still be fractured in future movies. It will be interesting to see how they bring them all together to get over their differences.

I hope they make use of Zemo being alive in another movie because I really want to see him mess some shite up. He is a great character but it felt like they wasted him in this. If this is the extent we will see Zemo, than I would have rather they used some other random Cap villain. Now with that said, I don't think the villain was as bad as others have said. He certainly was not throw away. He's the one that kept everything moving in a certain direction. You could see him pulling strings throughout the movie. The main problem is that he is named Zemo and we expect something bigger from one of the bigger comic baddies. While I certainly wanted him to be a more central role in the story, he was primarily a plot device to move the story along in the direction it needed. His scene at the end with the Black Panther was one of the better ones in the movie I feel. It reminded me of the scene between Ultron and Vision at the end of AoU.

I would argue Zemo served the same role as Loki did in the original Avengers movie. We clearly understood his motives for his actions (revenge), he had some really good scenes in the movie, and he is able to be used again later if need be.

Crossbones on the other hand was wasted and was nothing more than a throw away villain. If I had one big complaint about the movie, it was the use of Crossbones.

Random thoughts: I will echo what others have said and Spidey & Black Panther were great, they had good screen time and made the best use of it.

I don't fully understand how Vision nearly killed Rhodes. I get that he said he was distracted, but that seems like a bit of a loose end that could have been handled better. Very minor detail though and someone here might be able to explain it. I might have missed a detail in the movie that answered it.

The reasons for the fights were great and made total sense.

The action scenes were really entertaining.

The humor, to me, did not seem forced. It broke up the darker parts of the film to give the audience a break, which also helped with pacing. The movie probably could have gone at a break-neck pace the entire time but putting lighter parts between the action scenes really helped.

I thought the movie did a great job of making you root against Tony without making him out to be a bad guy. I thought that was a key that would be extremely hard to carry over from the comics. What made Civil War so enjoyable for me was the fact that you could understand Iron Man's actions, but he always seemed to take them pass the limit that you could support him. Captain America's stubbornness made him wrong in a situation he was right. The movie did a great job of translating that to film.

Sorry for the long post, but I really enjoyed the movie and I want to see it again as soon as I can.

Black Panther was just as regal and intimidating as I saw on the trailers.

His costume and fighting ability was badass. His character is a b*tch. Dude was giving the tough talk after his Kofi Annan die. He was saying no one to get between him and his revenge.

At the end of the movie, he took the moral high ground out of nowhere, saying revenge was "eating" him up inside. Revenge is the best reason and justification to kill someone. And I made attempts to understand that ridiculous African accent for nothing. In Days of Future Past, I was pumping my fist when Magneto put that silver dollar through Shaw's head.

Anybody noticed how old Cheadle has gotten?

he was paying attention to scarlet witch and her injuries. WM asked for him to blast falcon and he just looked up and blasted half assedly. falcon detected it, evaded and it smacked war machine instead.

No, the scene where the Accord was introduced. His neck was like a pencil. His face was wrinkling. You'd think he has cancer.

The parents getting killed angle has been done to death. And the audience is generally not sympathetic towards rich people getting killed anyway. So it's a time killer on screen.

This, the crippling him aspect maybe Disney trying to push his character out of the door in the coming films.
