Outside of Simmons and Ingram, Chad Ford believes there's not a player with more upside in the draft

*Size (6'9)
*Shooting touch (1.15 ppp on catch and shoots)
*Rim protector (2.3 blocks per 40)
*Can put the ball on the deck from the perimeter and get to the basket
*Will play entire year next season at just 19 years old

For someone who wasn't able to watch a lot of Pelicans games this season, tell me why he doesn't fit with Davis and Jrue down the stretch of games? Does Davis have to play the 4 in crunch time due to his frame?

I look at the dradt prospects and nothing really excites me out of 3-4 guys. So if they're gone by 6, why not Chriss?

Y'all tell me, cause as I said, I wasn't able to catch as many games as I would have liked.

We already have a PF.
I've literally never heard of him.

One area teams will want to see Chriss develop to be a full-time perimeter oriented forward is with his passing ability. His assist percentage and pure point rating both rank fourth worst among the 22 collegiate power forwards in our Top-100 rankings. His lack of experience comes into play here, having only a couple of years of experience playing competitive basketball under his belt, but so does his feel for the game, which appears to be average at best right no

Where that tends to show up the most vividly right now is as on the defensive glass. At 4.1 rebounds per-40, Chriss ranks among the least prolific power forwards in NBA Draft history according to our database. Among first round picks, only Thaddeus Young (who played mostly SF in college) had a worse defensive rebounding rate in the draft's last 30 years. Chriss almost never puts a body on opposing big men in an attempt to box out and prepare for loose balls coming off the glass, and his relatively small standing reach (measured at 8'9, comparable with most small forwards) didn't help matters much. In addition to his instincts, his motor here leaves a lot to be desired as well, as if at times appears he's operating at half speed, and far more focused on his work on the offensive end.

I don't know much about him but this DraftExpress breakdown makes him sound like a Ryan Anderson style stretch 4 which seems a bit odd considering the multiple times they also said he was an athletic freak. So he's going to be like Ryno but maybe shift some skill points from his scoring ability into his defensive ability? I wouldn't be upset if that's the way they went, because a Ryno that was at least passable on defense would be great next to AD. But I doubt this team waits for a kid to maybe develop into a Ryan Anderson level player when you can draft an instant Gordon replacement in Heild.

I think of Chriss as a more athletic Tobias Harris. Shooting range, similar height, length and wingspan. Harris a better all-around feel for the game

From what I've seen, yeh.

That probably makes more sense, but the poor defensive rebounding and passing made me immediately think of Ryno. I don't think the team waits for a kid to develop, but if he's got good starter potential I wouldn't be upset.

I like Chriss and Dejounte Murray. They possess more upside than most in that late lottery area

The Pels aren't limited to picking specific positions, so both are in play as far as I'm concerned. The board would melt bc those aren't guys who have been discussed

if the Pels pick at 6 and Buddy is available and isn't drafted, this board is melting. no matter the pick.

I'm going to go out to the park and watch the draft on my phone so that I have a picnic table nearby just in case.
