If he knew football, the staff actually were doing things different 2 games prior to Alleva Embarrassment Week, so don't wear yourself out with all that back patting, Joe.

Sporadic, and sometimes downright horrible, offensive production has done this for most folks.

Honestly I hated his answer. A wake up call? Jesus, couldn't you just sit down with the fricking guy and not have it drag out in the fricking media? His answer sounded like a man that never had a plan to begin with. His as is being saved by the guy he tried to fire.

He says he likes the staff Les assembled, well don't handcuff him next time. He likes the way recruiting is going, well don't let the rumor that the head coach is going to be fired drag on fro 2.5 weeks rt before the final stretch of recruiting.

Joe needs to go.

The only person that hopefully was awakened to reality is Alleva. What a moron. Run off the DC and hand him to A&M and then sue him on top of that. Leave Miles to hang in the wind after your Lacrosse debacle.
This guy is classless. Miles is gonna Miles. i think he proved that by the way he handled last seasonand not wavering on Cameron.
Miles lost to a much better Bama team than his and then had Ole Miss coming off a bye who was also more talented and had superior QB play.
Miles is a winner and if he has the more talented team he will run it and run it some more and play great defense and special teams.

Certainly a better passing game is needed because its much more difficult to out talent the SEC yr in and yr out anymore. There are no quick fixes when the competition catches up and out play you at QB. He wouldve fixed this on his own. For Alkeva to try and take any credit for this makes my stomach roll. All the great coaches that dont coach at uscw, texas, bama or Ohio State take a step back for a cpl of years before they right the ship. Paterno, bowden, beamer, stoops etc. Its like a company and their stock unless youre best of breed ( coca - cola comes to mind) there will be be new challenges from time to time. Its how you adjust that keeps u from becoming a has been.
Miles is a top 10 coach overall and for LSU hes the best man for the job. With everything coming at his program, he deserves a competent AD at the very least. Not this buffon who is making the job more difficult and is now trying to take some credit for LSU's s resurgence. Hes a freaking politician not a leader.

Yeah I still dislike the fact that he's the guy who was so quick to rush to judgment and even forced the coach to resign. I can't believe this is our AD. I just can't. I hate it.

quote:

A forgotten chapter of the story is what happened to the Blue Devils' head coach at the time, Mike Pressler. The reigning National Coach of the Year, Pressler was the only person at Duke to lose his job as a result of the scandal that wasn't. Pressler has never spoken at length about what happened to him at Duke -- the rush to judgment that has left a mark on his life to this day. Mike Pressler: Google up one of the boys' names, my name, and then, you know, on the computer you saw the word "rape," "sexual assault" next to your name. That, to me, that just was-- even today, I get emotional about it. Because it just-- everything you built, everything-- all-- everything you stood for. And to have two of those type of phrases or words associated with your name just-- even right now, as I speak to you, Armen, I'm getting angry over that.

quote:

With the rape scandal at full boil here at Duke, Pressler was summoned to the office of then-athletic director Joe Alleva, where he was issued an ultimatum: resign immediately or risk being fired. So Pressler resigned, the sacrificial lamb needed to appease protestors and protect the school's gold-plated image.

Oh how this disgusts me.. to this day. Unfreakingbelievable.

This was national coach of the year.. and he had him sacrificed because of the words of a lying stripper about his players.

I do not like Alleva..

I will go on record and say if I had to choose between the coach Alleva hires and Les Miles as LSU's head coach I am sticking with Les.

What happens next? The morons running lsu hire this clown and the rest as they say is history. We have a very serious problem at the top and I'm really worried about where they're going to take the athletic program. Miles is miles and while I'm not a big fan he's not one of their hires and he's the only coach that at least keeps us in striking distance. The 3 major hires under alleva are jokes.
