Hazing toughened me up.
Our pledge class was a bunch of guys who thought they were cool in high school. Everyone needed the collective wake up call that they were no longer big fish in a small pond.
Knocked everyone's cockiness down a peg or two. It also bonded us through turmoil. We all had to go through that together are became a lot closer because of it.
We (50ish of us) had to sit in a tiny room built for coats with full suits and ties on with a couple space heaters on listening to a recording of a dying rabbit turned up to 11 for a week in between all our classes.
And that was the "good part" of hell week.

Hazing is never really all that bad. They took their phones and wallets and shite and put them in a box probably. Took the medication as well to keep it in a safe space. It's what they did during my hell week. This stuff just pisses me off.
How did it even get out. This is why rush is so important. The organization has been on campus for 100 years or some shite and thousands of guys have gone through this. You can't handle not getting to sleep so you blab your mouth about the shite and ruin it for everyone.
I could understand some stuff being considered bad, even though I don't think it's terrible and certainly don't have a problem with it. But I can see them not liking the wall sits, push ups, blind folded and locked in room etc. But that other stuff is just stupid.
We did have to go through hell week during the semester though. There was a deadline upon which we had to be initiated by nationals or some shite. It actually sucked. Going to class dead tired and smelling like shite.

Solid post. That's what it's supposed to be about, with violence and potentially injurious activities not being part of that al all.
The article also mentions that they took away cell phones. Big deal. I made a men's Catholic retreat last year and they took away all of our phones for weekend. Don't even think about trying to walk into a court house with your phone, as it's strictly prohibited. Cry me a river.

same, I had a test on that Friday too. Lucky it was Poli science 1001 and everyone got the test a month in a advance. A friend of mine got his cousin to sit in front of us to help us out. No one else would sit near us because we smelled so bad. Not one person directly behind us and no one in our row in a otherwise completely full Dodson
It looked like we were the bomb in mine sweeper with all the empty seats around us.
His cousin told us she was struggle to keep from gagging.

I think campus would be a better place in general if all Greeks were kicked off honestly.
Sure save a lot of headaches.

Honestly I'm surprised some of the actives haven't beat the shite out of the pledge that went to the university administrators.

Sounds like they have a vessel of seagoing snitches.

That is hazing now. Holy shite, that was nothing years ago. How about paddled until your arse bleeds through your pants, having to listen to a scratched recording playing the rubber tree song all night every night, push up in broken glass, tiger tracks in your boxers in the snow, being locked in a beer cooler in your boxers for 6 hours, etc etc

I'm guessing the test was to see how long it was until you said "frick that"
