You didn't think Fields was hard?

i don't even know how to explain it at this point, excessively convoluted math would be the easiest description.
essentially you end up having to solve an extremely difficult problem with specific conditions using theories from Calc 3, Diff Eq 2, BVP and Complex Analysis, etc. then solve another, different extremely difficult problem that has different guiding conditions and then use a method for "Matching" the two solutions you just found together in to a single equation that is true for both the first and second problem as well as the boundary layer I think.
If you are really curious just google matched astymptotics and boundary layers and wait for your head to hurt.
(as fricked up as it sounds I think the only reason I passed was because the tornado came through during finals week in ttown - I mean I hope he would have passed me because it was me, 3 other undergrads and like 15 grad students and none of the undergrads had a fricking clue what we were getting ourselves in to)

Probably cell biology or organic chemistry

Fluid Dynamics with Harris Wong. I did okay, but had to work the hardest out of any class I'd taken.
Thermo was the hardest originally, but after I took it a second time with Gonthier, I actually learned it and it wasn't as difficult (as in I never once thought I wouldn't pass the class, still hard). Maybe I just had two shots at it (although I didn't put much effort into the first go round before deciding to take next semester).
MATH 4031 Advanced Calculus (I think) was the hardest material, but the teacher pretty much gave you a C for signing up for the class.

Physical Chemistry. Quantum mechanics is some abstract material in and of itself but when you are required to understand the math and derive the equations that define the material, it was overwhelming at times.
The abstract part killed me. I remember sitting in the first exam not knowing if the first question was asking for a calculation or a derivation or description, I just had no clue how to even start. I think I just answered 6.
Passed the class only because of the gracious professor.

Did undergrad at AU - Mammalian physiology with Dr. Wit or Organic chem 1 and 2 with Dr. Livant - they could be brutal on exams but were great professors

Thermo. It was the first and only time in my life I stopped half way through one of the exams and just thought to myself "what the frick am I doing here, I'll never make it" Somehow made it through with a D.
Thermo here too; passed it with a D and was glad for that. Second toughest was Pchem or Quantitative analysis but ended up with B's in those due to how our labs were graded.

Organic Chemistry
I killed Chem 1201,1202 and BIOL 1201
Organic was rough for me

I'll go with either cell biology or parasitology

EE 3320 (Electric and Magnetic Fields) in summer session.
ME 3133 Dynamics in summer with a dick that didn't curve. Not a single person made an A in that class.

System Dynamics with Murphy the first time he taught it
Could not imagine. I only had Murphy for sophomore design and senior design. He makes things more complicated than necessary. I had Wang (the funny Chinese guy). Wasn't the greatest teacher but the class wasn't hard.

Lol at all the MEs stating thermo was their hardest class.

After you take the class, you realize the material in Thermo isn't completely out of this world. It's just the short time period you are expected to learn it makes it stressful. It wasn't the hardest class for me. It did kick my arse into overdrive to learn how to study though.

Idk why, but I found circuits to be easy. It probably had a lot to do with the teacher though
Same here. It is amazing how much influence the teacher has over the course difficulty. I had to drop thermodynamics during regular semester due to this a-hole foreigner. Took it over the summer with an American teacher without the accent that actually like what he did and made an easy A.

I failed it the first time and got an A the second time. I bombed the final the first time. The second time his exams were actually reasonable.

Physics at Auburn. They made it entirely too difficult for people not entering engineering.

Physics 2. Electromagnetic fields, right hand rule and whanot

Thermo is hard because you're not used to the pace and being challenged. Thermo is where you learn how to do college, or fail and switch majors.
