Even though Mascona focuses more on the Tigers, he's still better in 30 minutes of Saints talk than those two for 4 hours

they are tough to listen to, but they're at least pretty nice, as long as you know what the hell you are talking about, when you call in to the show.... at least all the times i have they've been cool...

As bad as Buddy D and Hap Glaudi were, they at least stayed focused on football and the other major sports of local interest.

Hap was beyond terrible. He followed the horses and boxing, other sports not so much, and his sports show was filled with birthday greetings to people turning 100 and something for the ladies.

That was Glaudi on TV, not when they pushed him down to radio.

I was just coming to say this. Let's not act like Hap and Buddy were Edward R. Murrow. They were both a couple of Yats who mispronounced as many names as Bobby and were obsessed with boxing and the horses. The biggest difference between them and Bobby is that they were Yats and Bobby is a Coonass.

That being said, I think Hap and Buddy were knowledgeable and entertaining. Bobby is just a clown.

He's more of a modern format sports talk guy. Doesn't have to be constantly interrupted by news/weather/traffic because he works for a sports talk station. The show often has a theme or main take that the audience can focus on even when he has something irrelevant in a particular segment. There is sponsored content, but he fits it into the format of the show.

Bobby and WWL are just all over the place because their format means that they have to be everything to everyone, and I don't like it, especially during drivetime. That used to drive me crazy about Buddy too. Buddy'd do 30 minutes straight about the Saints game, and then he'd come back with one of his friends to talk about horse racing, or he'd have some sleazy 1-800 bookmaker talking for 10 minutes about why the Jets will cover in their game against the Chiefs and I'd have to change the channel. Moscona has some of that, but it's not so obnoxious.

WWL should go hire Matt Mascona, team him with TBob and have Mike D on as they do now. Bobby and Deke are garbage. However, considering this is a network that allowed scum bag Garland Robinette to stay on his job after his landfill scandal and and gave Scoot a show, I wouldn't expect more.

It's weird how many people say Bobby and Deke suck(they do). Well someone is listening to them. If you think they suck you need to stop listening to them. That is the only reason they stay on the air. Bobby especially, is popular for some reason

When I was working on the north shore, I listened to WWL a lot. They average something like 26 mins of content for every broadcast hour. That's no joke. I can't tell you how many times they'd bring on big guests right before a break. "Hi we'd like to welcome in Dee Smith, President of the NFLPA. How are ya Dee?" "Great Deke, thanks for having me." "So how are negotiations with the league going." "Okay thus far, we're working through issues." "Thanks Dee, but we've got to go to break."

He's a man of the people. He sounds like the average Saints fan from Lafourche/Terrebonne/River parishes.

Also, to me, taking lots of callers is outdated radio. The callers are mostly painful.

it is, especially when you are taking callers from the low IQ people that actually tune in to listen to those hacks

Its lazy. Instead of prepping and having good content and interesting guests, they take callers to fill the hour. Its quick and easy. They just react to whatever the caller is saying.

That being said, once and awhile I do put on Bobby and Deke because it can be entertaining in a trainwreck sort of way, and its one of the only games in town.

The rest of the time I listen to podcasts.

you're exactly right. It is lazy, and seems to have no structure
