Get out of here with that common sense. Cooks is what he is bro! BUST!

Is that a crime? I don't expect him to be Brown. If people keep comparing him to Brown then of course he isn't going to look as good. Brandin Cooks is Brandin Cooks. In his third season I expect him to continue to improve on the things that make him a weapon and make a another jump into the top 10 in receiving yards and tds. What's wrong with that?

Cooks actually averaged more YAC this year, but that can be a bit misleading.

He's got a great work ethic, so I look forward to seeing him continue to improve.

Cooks is not that good of an example for CSP to use. That makes me kind of wary of the pick.

Why?

Cooks is turning out to be a very good WR.

You're right, it isn't arguable. Cooks is in an entirely different world when it comes to creating separation. Big reason why Cooks doubled up Landry's touchdowns in just the last 8 games while absolutely blowing him away in ypc. Landry has the luxury of having other receivers create a route umbrella for him, and it matches his skillset.

Landry isn't even used over the top because the dolphins know it isn't strength for him.
frick it I said I was done but I'll bite. Couldn't resist. Completely disagree on separation ability but whatever. I mentioned a bunch of other traits you never addressed. As for stats, I hate anything with WRs involving stats because of their situation as one of the two was with Payton and Brees and the other Tannehill and a shite show of a coaching staff. As for Landry's YPC, he gets a decent amount of WR screens which he turns into productive plays but will lower his YPC. Anyway I am not talking stats I am talking about ability. Cooks is obviously the better player in the 3rd level but Landry is better in 1st and 2nd. Drew Brees would do much better with a player like Landry over Cooks because to me he is one of if not the best QBs at using the 1st and 2nd level. I am not saying Cooks is a bad player like some of the people in here; I am saying he was not a 1st round pick and better players went after him i.e. Landry.

Antonio Brown - 5'10"; 181 lbs.

Rookie Year - 16 catches; 167 yds.; 0 tds.
2nd Year - 69 catches; 1,108 yds.; 2 tds.

AB's 3rd year was a bit injury plagued and he dropped off. He's been a monster since 2013 - Present. It took him until his 4th season to be a consistent threat in the NFL.

Brandin Cooks - 5'10"; 189 lbs.

Rookie Year - 53 catches; 550 yds; 3 tds.
2nd Year - 84 catches; 1,138 yds.; 9 tds.

Brandin Cooks showed steady improvement and got better as the season went on. The point though isn't to say that Cooks will be as good as AB one day, but more that it takes time for players to develop in this league, and people today have absolutely no patience.

However for anyone to say the jury is still out on Cooks being a good player is foolish, and at this point, trollish.

WRs are notorious for taking 3-4 years to develop. Its one of the positions that requires the most patience.

This board would have been FOR SURE calling Antonio Brown a bust by the end of year 2 or 3 if he was a Saint.

The FACT is, Cooks is good. He is producing and getting better year to year.

I've never seen so much unwarranted hate for a great player on a team like this.

It's the typical "LSU is the best" mindset that accounts for 98% of this shite, and this is coming from someone who graduated from LSU.

Mark Ingram needs to be cut...because he went to Bama and cheered for Bama against LSU

Brandin Cooks suck...because we could have drafted Jarvis Landry who went to LSU.

It's so tired.

I was actually coming back to retract my statement. He had a much better year than I realized last year. I think I was mesmerized by Sneed's hair

Can you really blame them? They have given us a ton to shite on? My first reaction with Rankins was disappointment, but I have come around on him. I just hope he turns out better than the last couple DTs the Saints took in the 1st round.
