re: Who Do You Guys Want At 47?

So many good players left that could really help us, but I feel like the cutoff for them is almost right at our pick without there being too many surprises.
I'd love another DT because of the value but would be surprised to see our FO go that route, just doesn't seem like their style to me.
Would be pretty happy with Cravens or any of the big DEs left also to just sure up the defensive line. Would be great to get Spence or Ogbah.

I want Ogbah! Somebody let CSP know.

I kinda want another big man up front. Robinson, Reed, Billings. Or even Whitehair on the offensive side. I want to get nasty on the lines.

I'd take any of those guys too. My list would be Ogbah, Billings, Jones, Spence, Whitehair, Reed/Robinson then Thomas/Boyd.

Can anyone remind me why is our pick #47?

Any defensive player.
The whole draft should be defense.

Noah Spence, Kevin Dodd or Michael Thomas.

If you think about how Payton talked about Rankins, Michael Thomas is another guy that fits that mold. Think we get him. High character guy who loves the game.

tied records with other teams, we were lucky we were 12th.

Im praying Michael Thomas will be there but I don't think he will. I just posted in the other thread that Wr talent will fall off after him but after looking at the remaining that are under him it will probably be wise to wait till the 3rd or 4th. Tyler Boyd wouldn't be that bad of a reach and is a great route runner with big hands in the 2nd but lets hope one of those DE's fall to us. Wouldn't be surprised to see us trade up a few spots to get our guy.

Vadal fills a need well, but is there better value at the pick? I wouldn't hate the pick if we were to trade down a few spots.

Yeah and I think it goes by strength of schedule when there is tied records. I think the team with the easiest strength of schedule picks first. So say there are 4 teams that finished tied at 7-9 picking 11th,12th, 13th, & 14th. Then the team that finished 7-9 with the easiest strength of schedule would pick 11th in the first then go to the back of the line and pick 14th in the second round, while the team that picked 12th in the first round would then pick 11th in the second and then fall to 14th in the third round.
So the team that picked 11th in the first would pick 14th in the second round, 13th in the third round, 12thh in the fourth round, and then pick 11th again in the fifth round. And then fall back to 14th again in the sixth round and 13th in the seventh round
I think that is how it works

I've been a Spence guy all along, big time.
But since we picked Rankins, a slightly undersized guy, and have Kikaha, a slightly undersized guy at DE, I think we might need to get more prototypical size.
Ogbah, Billings, Chris Jones.
If we go WR, Thomas.
LB/Secondary, Su'a Cravens.
That would be my wish list I think.

I just remember Carolina doubling up on DTs a few years ago, Star and Short in rounds 1 and 2.
Unlikely but i wouldnt rule it out. We need bodies there.
And they just went that route again with the kid from La. Tech. They have a ferocious front line which allows their LBs and DB's to wreck havoc. It's clear their GM knows great defenses start up front. It's why he was ok with letting Norman walk. Norman got paid, but if he doesn't play behind that front 7 I doubt we would have ever heard of him.
I'd have no problem with the Saints hitting that spot again in Round 2. Improve the DL and everyone else behind them gets better by default
