Just did executive health physical at Ochsner

"Keto is bad for you! You have to eat carbs" - no one on here, just some people in general I've spoken to.

I know we have argued about this before...thousands of anecdotal post on the internet and every bit of science says your wrong

We have, and fun times they were! When CICO isn’t even the appropriate method for calculating…it isn’t as simple as take in energy and “burning off” energy. Look up the 2nd law of thermodynamics, it correctly applies to this, not the misused 1st law of thermodynamics.

Regarding weight, I specifically mean fat for clarification, so I’m sorry for any confusion. That you can accurately calculate what you eat and burn to lose fat is laughable. There are way too many variables. Protein speeds up metabolism, just being chilled-cool-or cold speeds up metabolism. Taking a swim? You’ve “burned more” through thermal lose to the water temp than just swimming around working the muscles. One lick of butter extra left on a plate is enough calories alone, added up, year after year, to make us obese? Because that is the bottom line. Nonsense.

Actually most of his audience is just people trying to lose weight. Lyle himself is not a bodybuilder but is an endurnance guy(bike and long distance ice skating)

I learn something new every day. I thought he was a body builder because I’ve never looked him up myself. That is an interesting website I'll be spending time on.

understands people are going to crash diet so he wrote the book to have a scientific approach to it

Then he shouldn’t have written something that crashes hormones and isn’t ideal, even if he stated what he stated. He should have gone into details about the harm of such ways. Fixing hormones is #1, he knows that, in fat loss and he should have stressed that. It doesn’t go after the root of the problem. Crashing hormones to cut fat just rubbed me the wrong way because it will cause people to yoyo. But, alas, I know there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Checking in from beautiful Jamaica.

The sugary drinks here.. I can only imagine the damage I, and many people, are doing to their livers, and actually makes me feel guilty when drinking them. First couple of days I slammed the rum punches back hard but I'm cutting back to liquor and club soda the last few days.

Food is damn tasty but overall I haven't really gorged that much, but all of the boozing keeps you full

I was surprised to see it gone. The moderation on this site is so arbitrarily heavy handed.

It wasn't anything major. Someone asked if anyone's had a threesome. None of the responses were crazy. It got whacked, yet a "do you know any swingers?" post has over 100 responses. I don't understand why one is different than the other.

what up guys, I must confess....I have been sick since last tuesday and from Wednesday night through saturday I was terrible. BUt back on it now and got all my meal prep done and going to his 3 straight weeks of the RFL and see where I am. No weighing until then as I am going to run the RFL as a Cat 2 so essentially 2 lbs of chicken a day plus veggies then a protein shake or omelet on lifting days. About to get a ripped as possible. Gonna do atleast 2 miles on the rower everyday, plus morning and lunch fasted cardio everyday.

Need your help man. Stuck on overhead press. Been stuck at 145 for 4 for 3 weeks now, but my second set at now 135 has continued to progress, same with third.

Think I should just stick it out and keep pushing so long as the back off sets are progressing or should I switch it out for sitting db press? Only continuing to run the reverse pyramid training protocol until march 1 when I go back to 5/3/1 BBB so I don't guess it really matters but still wanted your opinion.

Just had Blue Oak-Mid City wings for the first time. We tried the Jerk, "Regular", and inferno. I found inferno to not be too bad - but had the potential to build up in heat.

All in all, very much recommended!

Sitting db press sucks. Takes half the energy to get the dumbbells in position before you start the lift
