and still can't beat the Warriors MINUS the reigning league MVP.

Or you could go with the entire season like most normal people and see Hou was #25 in Opp. ppg

quote:right because the whole season is more indicative of how they are playing currently than a more recent sample. AND you used Opp PPG. Please remove yourself from any hoops discussion you're an idiot.

They dont need to be their best to win, not even close to it actually.
I don't think it's a done deal that the Warriors complete the sweep, that's all I'm saying.

Right ... and those handful of teams would likely have two Superstars...like the Rockets supposedly do ... except, in reality, they don't.
The Rockets have a scoring machine when he's on who couldn't or wouldn't guard my Grandma ... and an overpaid gimpy supreme waste of talent lazy cancer.

The rockets have some good individual talent. They just don't play well as a team. Especially on defense.

The defense has been excellent.
And the Offense has been very good too, they are down from their season averages but when you consider HOU is the 8th ranked defense dating back to Mar 1 (tied w GSW) then you can't expect them to score at the rate they did in the reg season.
I've watched every minute of both games and if you think GS isn't playing sloppy as hell, then we don't have to argue about it.

Haven't seen that at all. They've been under their season average in turnovers both games. Sloppy play should lead to a bump in turnovers no?

And you used an arbitrary date with no link or general stat.
eFG%- 23rd
Opp FG%- 19th
Def Eff- 20th

be careful.
Boom telling you that you clearly don't follow NBA basketball, shouldn't be in a basketball discussion here, and calling you an idiot is only the first step. He'll make it personal next and then start stalking your on social media.

Hey don't post your social media accounts here if you want to don't want people to comment. When you bring that attention on yourself you're inviting comments.

who cares? They've had a lot of roster turnover/there are guys who played key roles in those season long numbers play no role on the team now and vice versa. Meanwhile if you look at the stats since Mar 1 you know when they have the same guys playing who are playing now it's easy to see what stats are relevant and which ones aren't.

He's an average center.
He's declined a lot over the past 2 seasons, but especially this season.
The Rockets were expected to do big things IF they had Harden, star player Dwight Howard, and borderline all-star Ty Lawson.
Well, Dwight has fallen off big-time this season and Ty Lawson looks like he's not even good enough to be in the NBA.
That leaves the Rockets with 1 star player in Harden. Westbrook didn't make the playoffs last season with himself as the only star player for most of the year.
It's not surprising the Rockets are an average team, even if you remove the supposed dysfunction.

Disagree, what went down were his opportunities to score, he had the highest fg% of his career. REB % and BLK % both the highest since he's been in Houston. D12 is far from average but the team offensive philosophy has done him a real disservice.

His shots come almost exclusively from easy dunks and put-backs.
It's not like he's scoring at will and they just aren't getting him the ball. Whenever he does get the ball he turns it over, gets fouled and misses his free throws, misses the shot, and sometimes makes it.
His rebound% and block% are virtually the same as it's been since he's been in Houston. Technically it's the highest, but you are talking minuscule differences. For example, 2 seasons ago his reb% and blk% were 20.1 and 4.0... and this season it's 20.2 and 4.1. Nobody would brag that it's the "highest of his time in Houston" unless you were trying to be disingenuous.
He's clearly not the force on defense that he used to be.

Exactly. He is also not commanding double teams like he did in his dominant years.

Most of his points always came from dunks and putbacks. If he wouldve gotten the ball in the post his points would've gone up but his %s down to pretty much where he has been since he's been in HOU it's been a change in philosophy more than anything that's affected his impact.
quote:Not as good as he once was as a rim protector paint but the FO really screwed the pooch with the PFs they all suck which leads to HOU having the worst Def reb rate in the league even though D12 is still top 5.
He's clearly not the force on defense that he used to be.
