Same here. I'm trying to keep my "you dumbass, who does this stupid shite? Haven't you seen TWD?" In check and fixate on the fact that this is a group going through the start of the shite in metro LA and learning what we TWD vets already know. It's different for sure and hard to adjust.

I haven't started tonight's episode, should I bother?

Let's be honest, if Negan caught this crew and started putting some work in with Lucille we would all be cheering with every swing. There really are no characters to pull for in this show.

The characters are so unlikable.

I can't find any I really like. Maybe the older Mexican guy and the black boat captain.

While I'm typing this, I don't even know their names. And in in season 2.maybe that's my fault

That episode was nothing but filler. We found out that basically all of the West coast and maybe into Colorado has gone dark or been destroyed.

That was it.

True but I'm interested in seeing the storyline of the boat driver... The fact that I don't know his name isn't a good thing as far as character progression and emerssion is concerned.

Daniel and Strand. Only two I'm at all interested in too.
I get this is supposed to be earlier than TWD but just how long was Rick laid up before waking up? Although there were remnants of past military battles etc, and the Governor shot down a military helicopter in TWD, I'm having trouble that Atlanta wasn't napalmed, or any mention of cities being leveled by the military but every West Coast city was fire bombed. That seems like something that would have been ordered across the board not just West of the Rockies.

Actually not a bad episode by FTWD standards.

Really? Wasn't that were Rick road into town on the horse that got eaten and met up with Glen and they were in that department store etc? That wasn't burned out. Also the CDC is in Atlanta and I don't recall scorched earth as they travelled there. Maybe I missed something.

ETA. Quick google search tells me Atlanta was napalmed but in limited areas with concentrations of walkers. Doesn't seem on the same scale as LA in last weeks episode. But.... Napalmed it was.

I too never know the names of any characters. I know Travis for some reason, but everyone else is blonde chick, old dude, etc. to me. On TWD, I always know their names.

So glad they did not take that little boy with them. We have enough dumbass kids on board already.

They need to have an event that finally wakes their asses up to the new reality. Maybe then it will be interesting to see them try to take charge of their situation. But I'm not holding my breath.

I actually agree with this. Found myself saying "Meh, that wasn't all that bad".

FIFY

Luckily, Game of Thrones will be back next week to make this show a distant memory.

The dad is such a pussy. I will never buy his likely transformation into a badass.

This isn't half bad so far, probably because I find this family intriguing. Something is off with them. The female, she's an actress I've seen before in a network show.

Wasn't that bad tonight, actually. And at least tonight confirmed that there are likely no safe states out there.

First people want Cali to fall into the ocean and now they are complaining that Cali is fictitiously napalmed too much. I kid and I'm drunk (frick Cali)

OK, I actually didn't think that episode was half bad of a story. Stupid how the mom magically made it out of the house and onto the dock. I assume that means the dad is dead because he didn't stop her. Of course no way she gets out there that quick because she'd be too busy dining on him, that and she's a slow moving zombie.

Mysterious guy is mysterious. Of all people he should know drugs are no good now. I assume he is a drug smuggler given the boat, wealth, trips to Mexico, etc.
