Went to the batting cages with my 12yo today and got my feelings hurt! I pitched in little league, Babe Ruth league, and in high school. As a Sr in high school my fast ball was between 79-83. I hit 84 once and never topped it. I had great control tho. Today I was barely in the mid 60's. I hit 68 one time and that was bringing all I had with no control.

Oh, and before you guys start saying you were low 90's in high school it was prolly low 70's I'm 42 now and my arm is throbbing like a sick birds arse. Should have never tried to bring some heat. Lol. What say the OT? What kind of cannon you boys got under your sleeve?

A year ago at a Zephyrs game I hit 62 mph according to the radar gun they had set up for people to use. I was pretty happy with it considering I hadn't pitched since little league and have what I would assume is terrible technique

Those of us who at least had a cup of coffee try and avoid the gun. It's too humbling.

Never played baseball after I got into junior high. After a graduated high school I went to some park where they clocked pitches and I threw 68-69 when I was slinging it as hard as I could.

ETA: My elbow hurt like hell afterwards

I've tried throwing it a million times. I just never could get the movement or make the bottom fall out. My hats off to any great knuckle baller. Phil Neikro is the GOAT knuckle baller.

I don't think I will ever try and see how fast I can throw one. I played in highschool but played catcher. I'd be surprised if I could have gotten over 70 in my baseball days. I would probably through my arm out trying to hit 60

I topped out at 74 MPH when I was 15. I'd be lucky to hit 65 these days.
