What is the perfect age/ age range to have kids?

Obviously depends on alot, like when you graduate or when you start working, but I'm perfectly content with waiting until 34-36. I'll finish grad school when I'm 26, start knocking off some loans, travel, get married, see the world. Some of my baws though can't wait to produce offspring and want to start at like 26-28. I think they are nuts.
What do you baws think?

Whatever age you can financially support them.

There is no perfect age. I would suggest that you are financially stable before having them though.

I can't speak for anyone else but I wish we had our 3 children when we were younger. I'm in my mid 40s with three kids under 8 and sometimes I just can't keep up with them. The only good thing is that I can actually afford them.

I see both sides.
Have kids early...
1.) The kids benefit from your youth
2.) You are biologically better prepared for lack of sleep and stress
3.) You finish early, then you can travel and live it up when you are making more money and presumably have more control over your own schedule
Have kids late...
1.) Get to enjoy your youth, live carefree for longer
2.) Build up a financial nest egg, better prepared for the financial challenges
3.) Bust your arse at work without family worries, maybe advance your career faster
4.) Have kids when you presumably have more control over your schedule
FWIW, I had my 4 kids all before 35. Things were financially tough for my first two, but it was easier getting by on 2hrs of sleep than it would be today. I certainly see both sides. But I'm looking forward to crushing my late 40's & 50's

Depends on your situation. My wife and I were 33 when she had our son.

Pros and cons to everything.
I'll be 43 when mine graduates. My wife and I are enjoying a renewed sense of youth together while still young enough to enjoy having fun.

Have 2. One at 30, one at 34. In the perfect world, you will never have two in diapers, two in high school or two in college.

enough to afford them
young enough to enjoy them

If you wait for the perfect time you'll never have kids. The movie Idiocracy was on to something. My friend knocked up his girlfriend at 20, which I thought was a death sentence. He buckled down, got a house and a job and grew up. His kids will be in college when he's 40 - which is badass.

We're gonna have them as soon as my wife gets her first period.

18-22. If you don't want kids by mid 20s, an additional 3-4 years won't change it. I had mine between 29-34, and it has been a challange. At this age, my kids will be in college when I would like to retire, which will kill my investments.

Here is a piece of related advice.
DO NOT have kids right after getting married. The first years of marriage are hard enough, dump kids into the mix and you are heading for trouble.
Get married, get that figured out and THEN talk about having kids.
Bonus, if the marriage goes to shite early, you don't screw up some little humans for the rest of their lives.
