until 34-36.

From a first time father at 36 this is not the time to do it. Get the newborn never sleep phase out of the way in your late twenties. My kid is about to wear us out. I could stay up till 1 am without problems until she arrived. Now I am always worn out.

As a 49 year old with three kids that started at 30...

I'd say around 23.

Had our first when I turned 34 and had the money saved up. Just had our second when I turned 39 and no money saved up. Worked out both ways and we were blessed to have 2 babies who slept 5-6 hours without waking up so I haven't lost as much sleep in life as others on here I'm sure.

I got married at 44, had my first at 45 and my second at 50. Wife is 15 years younger than I am and I love it! I lived abroad, had lots of fun and and saved a lot. All of this keeps me young and I actually feel like I'm 40.

I hear lots of talk about not sleeping...if you're an OT Baller shouldn't your wife be the one staying up with the kid since you can afford for her not to work?

It's actually 40 that the chances of birth defects go up. Over 35 is when woman start having more problems getting pregnant.

at 20 year old woman's chance her baby has down syndrome is 1 in 2,000....by 35 it's about 1 in 350, and this chance increases gradually to 1 in 100 by age 40, at age 45 the incidence becomes approximately 1 in 30.
