I'm not an OT Baller, but I want a nice everyday wearing watch. I'm looking at a couple of watches, but am definitely open to suggestion.

I'm looking at the Seiko Skx175, but also have been checking out some Citizens. I'm not trying to break the bank, but also want a decent watch. I've heard divers are good all around every day watches, but I'm definitely open to anything that looks reasonably professional.

Citizen Eco drives are nice.

Look up Bearnhardt (spelling?) watches. They make some nice looking automatics that are very reasonably priced.

I have a friend who is a watchmaker(he's also a clock-maker, which is actually a rare combination). He recommends Citizen as the best watch for the money. He does so without regard to sales, since he does not sell watches nor does he work for an establishment that sells watches (he is independent).

I can tell you that a lot of the folks at watchuseek seem to consider the Tisell Divers to be the best bang for your buck at under $200.

I started off with a few Citizen EcoDrives that I still wear today from time to time. Personally, I'd consider saving and increasing your budget to $350 or so and thus entering the Hamilton/Tissot entry range.

I don't know how many people feel about Fossil watches as they tend to be on the lower end. But I swear I get more compliments on this watch than any others I have.

This is what I am going to get. Simple look, nothing flashy. Decently priced.

I'd get one of these two watches...if I could ensure the day of the week isn't in German. Looks like it is, and hey once you get the conversion down it could be cool.

$245 with shipping

$229 with shipping

For the $200 range you're buying a nice case and dial...these are probably as nice as you'll find. These would look super cool on NATO bands.

I hear swatches are making a comeback. Make sure you allow enough in your budget for the florescent watch guard.

recently got sick of the battery type too

there are not many plain faced automatics left on the market

I just found a russian one for 80 from amazon
but I hate the band...but have a cpl ready to change out the original

Push yourself to $350. I love my Citizen ECO Drive with Sapphire face, radio controlled so it automatically adjusts for all time and date. Great features for the price and usually sells for $600. I got it for 350 on Jomashop.
