I can only guess that it is not cool to say Imagine.

Was going to say the same thing, too many pretentious pricks.

Agreed. I remember a while back a thread on here where the OP said something like "I think most agree that Paul McCartney was the greatest Beatle".

I love Paul, but that statement mostly comes from younger folks who grew up with Paul always being around. John's been dead for over THIRTY FIVE YEARS. Hard to believe.

And now for my "Not Imagine and In My Life" picks--

I'm So Tired (White Album) Youtube has a funny version of this song with Paul singing it.

Isolation Ann Wilson recorded a great version of this song too.

God
Oh Yoko!

I'm not for sure completely who wrote which songs for the Beatles. I have an idea for a bunch, but I'm not for sure on most. I tried to find a list of Beatles songs that are known to have been written by John so that I could be sure, but I couldn't find one. I'm sure a lot were collaboration. I'll just stay away from that one for now.

No favorite, just not a fan of his music but he is undeniably great. Favorite Beatle song is While My Guitar...thank you George. And thank you Eric for making John listen.

Imagine. My wife's father was the lead violinist on that song. She gets annual royalty checks still due to it.

See, I would argue the John is the greatest became the norm because he was killed. It became fashionable for a bit to "bash" Paul for not being "deep" or something. And I'm old enough to remember hearing the news from Howard Cosell.

Both of course were great, but I would also argue the quality of Wings and Macca's solo stuff in general shows he was much more important than many wanted to give him credit for.
