Say a kid is minding his own bidness at a public place playing on his own iPad and a runt comes to him making small chat and expects it to leading to the kid sharing his iPad with him and being extremely annoying about it, do you push your kid to share or to hell with that kid?

I wouldn't give my kid a fricking iPad to begin with.

This should go well for you.

Is this kid just some stranger? If so tell him to get lost

1. Kid shouldn't have an iPad
2. I sure in the hell wouldn't expect him to share a device like that with a stranger.

Who gives a kid an iPad. I destroyed everything I got my hands on until I was like 13.

Why the frick did you give your kid an iPad?

To hell with that kid
Both my kids (6 and 11) have ipads and laptops, and my 11 year old has an iphone. The reason I have the computer knowledge and skills I have is because my parents started letting me have techy gadgets as young as 6. Had my first PC at 6 in 1985 and it went from there. Had every electronic I ever wanted and was taught their value very young because I had parents that had a clue.
Also, if you are worried about your kids tearing up an ipad, sorry you're so poor.

Actually kinda ran into something similar at Celebration Station. Brought the little one there with his allowance money and some junior panhandler asked him for some tokens. He said "Dad I'm supposed to share?", I replied "usually". He got the hint, frick freeloading kids and frick their shitty parents.

Politely tell the poor kid that he needs to go ask his parents for his own iPad.

Sounds like a perfect time to teach your kid the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Never lend something to someone who can not afford to pay for it if they accidentally destroy it. If you want to know if they can afford it, ask for a cash deposit that will cover it.
Give your kid the easy out. Tell him to tell the little gremlins that his dad does not allow him to share the Ipad.

I'd just watch and see what he does.
I don't think he should share it, but I'd be curious to see how he handled it, and then I'd ask him about it and what his thought process was. Then I'd tell him he can make his own decision, but he doesn't always have to share, especially with a stranger. And that he should be careful because some people don't always want to just "share" and he might end up losing his toy/iPad/whatever.

My son knows not to share electronics with other kids. When other kids come around the electronics are put away.

Kids shouldn't have to share anything with random kids. The idea that they should must have originated with jealous poors.
