Causeway Cops aren't real cops. More like rent-a-cops.

Cinco De Mayo a few years ago. Driving down Lake Av at 2:30 am. Stopping at signs and going 20 mph. A car pulled in behind me and followed me to West Esplanade. Under the lights I saw it was a cop. I made a left, traveled a block, and pulled into my townhouse complex. He lights me up. He takes forever until another cop shows up. Said I ran the stop sign a 1/2 mile back on Lake. I said no. He wrote me up for doing 45 mph in a 35. The limit is 20 mph and the stop signs are so prevalent, you would need to be in a dragster to do 45 mph. Kid wrote me up also for bad address as I had moved from Lakeview to Metry post-Katrina. I think they believed I was a druggie looking for drugs at that hour, but too afraid to admit it. I pled down all but one charge and paid court costs.

Failure to yield at a stop sign...after I came to a complete stop. Cop initially wrote me a failure to stop ticket, then proceeded to scratch that out and wrote failure to yield. Gotta love small town cops

I once got a 'no seatbelt' ticket pulling out of the PARKING LOT at the DMV in Kenner. There was a motorcycle cop hiding behind a parked car and he was just pointing to every car that pulled out of the lot w/ no driver seatbelt- he had like 5 of us lined up. What an a-hole. It was only $20 and didnt affect insurance, though- just a moneymaker operation for the city.

Towed a Wild Life and Fisheries agent back to the launch after his boat broke down. He told us to hold up before we left. We assumed he was going to give us a free t-shirt or some shite like that. Nope!

Wrote a ticket for not having an up to date fishing license.

got pulled over coming back from spring break by florida hwy patrol. We were going 73 and he was in the other lane traveling in the opposite direction. That same instance a mini van passed up going about 85mph.

cop hits the lights whips it around and i'm 100% positive he is going to get the van. To the point where i was saying "they got yo arse". Well he pulls us over. Says we were doing 85 and both without seatbelts. Gave us speeding ticket and seatbelt tickets which we both had on. Dont know how you can see that with both vehicles traveling 70 in opposite directions. He also wrote us a warning because we had a sticker on the truck that said "Dont be a D*ck". over 350 dollars in bogus tickets.

I got a DWI in December. I was not in my car, the car wasn't turned on, no keys were in the car, etc. I was in my bed asleep. I had drank four beers in as many hours. I got home around 12:30 am and was woken up by policemen at my front door. They said that someone (not a cop) had called in my license plate number and said I seemed intoxicated. I passed the field sobriety test but like a fricking idiot I admitted to drinking before getting behind the wheel.

Do you happen to live in Oak Hills subdivision in Watson?

Same here.

Although I could argue that an expired inspection sticker is an absurd reason to give someone a ticket.

I'm not anti-cop, but the chicken shite stuff by a few ruins it for the rest of them.

They need to learn how to exercise wise discretion. People remember when someone fricks them, and they seek revenge.
