Pardon my ignorance, but how does one go about making helmets? Very cool collection by the way.

I found a you tube video back in October

All you do is get an old helmet (most of mine are from thrift shops)

Take off all the pads, snaps, ect

Use goo gone to get rid of all the old decal residue

Take off face mask

Spray paint the helmet shell and face mask what ever color you want

U you can buy all the team decals on eBay

Dude, you did all of that in 4 months? A little OCD maybe?

How do you get the colors right? Is there some resource that tells you what can to buy if you want say LSU gold or Alabama crimson?

I didn't make the LSU helmet, that's the only one I didn't make (wife got it for my Christmas gift)

As for the other colors it's actually not hard.

I go to Walmart and eyeball the color to try to match.

I used the same dark red for USC and Bama

A brighter red for Uga and Utah

The same navy blue for Michigan, cal, WV AND Houston Texans

I used the same old gold paint for ND, FSU, UCLA
