I tend to think this team loses more mid-week games this season just because it'll be more of a tryout match all year long until a lineup begins to grow from it.

I am fine with dropping a few more games if we can develop someone to be a contributor from it. Too much emphasis is put on winning every single game. You need to give different guys a chance to prove themselves especially pitching, something Maneri consistently struggles in managing. The thing is if LSU loses the rant goes into meltdown mode, something I am guilty of as well. But who gives a crap if you lose 3 midweek games but win in Omaha because of people getting opportunities in those games earlier in the year.

I've forgotten more about total bases than you could ever hope to learn, BOY.

Dawson will take the TB title with single baggers dominating the stat line, STTDB

Maybe, but we have a couple legit possible 4th starters. Dont believe we will see as much Johnny Wholestaff on midweeks this year.

It was either him or Papierski because the kid can take some pitches and earn some walks. He could end up the TB leader but I can see Trey getting on 1B a lot more and stealing or advancing an extra bag or two on a hit

Please tell me you just didn't seriously think walks are included in total bases?

ETA: oh shite, I kept reading. You were counting SBs too.

Hang on, this seems to insinuate that he thinks steals and moving around the bases count towards them too

my guess is we are going to be on the bubble for hosting a regional, with our young lineup it will be tough to be top 8, but we could do it.

Lange is clearly the ace, but I completely agree people are way to dismissive of Poche. I don't think it matter who starts which day, you are likely to get two great starts out of your pitchers Friday and Saturday, but we HAVE to have someone step up for Sunday and mid week games. That is what has been costing us in recent years, we have 2 great pitchers and a massive dropoff. Someone has to make that dropoff less noticable.
