Johnny Jones is the head coach.

That's the only explanation I can find.

Jones can't even match his shirt and tie. How do you expect to coach basketball.

I've been trying to wrap my brain around that myself. How can ANYONE be pleased, or make ANY excuses for this garbage??

Simmons is slightly overrated and Jones is a horrendous coach

His game needs to be different here. These players aren't good enough to consistently convert the opportunities he creates.

Remember what Simmons said last year when he was in HS and people were criticizing Jones? He said why LSU fans blame Jones it is the players who don't execute and he was right.

Yet god forbid you criticize this team on this board. Fact is they are mediocre at best.

Jones did a solid job up until this season, but he has fricked up every single thing about this season. I'm just in awe at this point.

Fire him. This positiger is out.

I got some issues with CJJ, tonight and otherwise, but I'm sorry gotta give some grief to Ben tonight.

I've taken up for him against mostly baseless criticism but tonight.....he earned some grief.

He looked totally disinterested tonight. Defensively I don't think he could have been worse if he'd tried. All that was missing was a red ole' cape, maybe he could have borrowed one from Quick Change. I can't defend the abysmal lack of fire and effort he showed tonight and believe me I would like to....just can't.

All I can hope for is this is a watershed moment for him, to point out he can't just show up and go through the motions and it spurs him on to quit wasting the opportunity and bring the fire...he's too talented to sleepwalk like this.

And 13-6 with its full lineup intact with losses coming on the road to Florida, then ranked 11 Texas A&M, then ranked 24 South Carolina and then ranked No.1 Oklahoma at home. Other then that we lost to Wake Forest and Bama, a team that's projected to make the NCAAT. One player doesn't make a team.

Imagine how shitty they would be without Victor. Seriously, there's a good chance they would be 12-14, even with Simmons, if Victor didn't become eligible.

TQ
Hornsby
Blakeney
Simmons
Victor

Even with good and bad TQ, this team is pretty talented. This is a top 15 roster with an even higher ceiling. We are 15 points better than Bama at home with equal coaching/planning/motivation.

Not gonna say Johnny Jones is blameless, because a lot is on him.

But sometimes a "superstar" does whatever the frick he wants, because he knows the coach doesn't have the leverage. You see this a lot in the NBA, and it's filtering down to college ball. Last year, I remember watching Karl Anthony Townes clown around and basically mock Calipari after a game, during Coach Cal's interview on the court. These kids know they have the coaches by the balls.

I don't think Jones can tell Simmons a damn thing, and I think it's affecting the rest of the team as far as consistency. And I really don't think Simmons gives half a care about LSU, so long as he gets to highlight his profound basketball IQ by making slick passes etc.

But if he is a nice guy we should keep him.

Simmons isn't LeBron, or even KState Michael Beasley at this point in his development, despite the ridiculous hype.

That said, bring back John Brady.

So lsu replaces mickey and Martin with the most highly rated player since lebron, added big man in Victor who can shoot, and a 5 star sharpshooter...factoring everyone from last year is still on the team thus gained valuable experience and this team still get cant get it together to make a run..guess we blame the players

The worst part is we are in year 4, and we still don't have more than 2 solid post players. It's not looking like it's going to change next year either

Old man Johnny can recruit, though.

He can't coach worth a f*ck, but he can recruit!
