As mentioned, he's already a co-OC at his alma mater.

If you were an assistant coach at LSU, would you leave to take a job at Florida for $150k more? Or is staying at a place like LSU worth more than that?

Yes. Every single time. Unless you're already super rich, you always take a $150,000 pay raise lol

Word is he makes $500,000 at AU. We are only paying Raymond under $400,000. Better give Rsymond more!

Pretty sure he played a big role in getting Jameis to FSU which alone should speak for the recruiting benefits

DC is supposed to be "Co-Oc" but rumor is he has been shut out of any real decision making. Auburn people don't even refer to him as OC but just WR coach.

Now we brought in Herb Hand Gus' former run game coordinator who likely takes even more stuff from him

Part of how we got him to leave Jimbo Fisher, his mentor, was to give him a step up the ladder. Now he is going backwards

Cam still probably wants to be in the booth for games but BH seems to want him on the field. Could this be a compromise? Cam still in the booth but have Craig on the sidelines for BH and the WRs

I think Les would want him on the field.

Where does this come from. Just a feeling in your gut? Cam looked pretty content on the sideline. Who is to say Miles ain't the one that wanted him upstairs and Cam said no.

Cam has typically been on the field throughout his coaching career. Les wanted him in the booth here and he has been in the booth. Harris told Les he wanted Cameron on the sideline, so Cam moved down from the booth to the sideline and it helped a lot. Simple thing to do that went a long way.

I would expect him to be on the sideline for the upcoming season as well, considering the QB wants him down there and it seemed to help a lot during the 1 game he was down there.

Please make it happen. This isn't just a "WR coach" type hire. This is good for the QBs and the offensive system. If they want him, they are now more than likely getting a good bit into the idea of the spread and if he leaves, it's because he hates the controlling nature of Malzahn.

For the love of God, please stop.

We already took Steele.

Haven't we suffered enough?

I've read the friction is actually with Gus and not Lashlee like some think. Craig isn't even allowed to coach his position like he would want. Gus isn't fighting to keep him and is already looking at a replacement.

The word on Dameyune Craig out of Aubbie is that his real strengths are: Recruiting, Coaching QBs, not a good WR Coach.
That is the word. The article below supports Ross' first report on this topic.

The question is, will this guy have any (legitimate) input into the offensive gameplan
since Les does it every week of the season with Cam?

This would be a tremendous hire, we could actually begin to recruit in Alabama again, make Saban have to defend his recruits from us for a change. This hire would absolutely make LSU the best recruiting staff in the country, and would help us in our attempt to run more spread. Man Miles is absolutely on a mission, if we game plan anywhere close to this aggressively next year its gonna be ALOT of fun to watch

AU staff not one big happy family:

quote:

You may be asking yourself why Malzahn wouldn’t just remove Lashlee from the staff. Auburn’s offense was stuck in the mud with Lashlee last season, while Craig seems to be a comer in the industry and just secured for the Tigers one of the best wide receiver recruiting hauls in America.

The answer to this question is simple, if not satisfying to Auburn fans: Lashlee is Malzahn’s boy. Malzahn coached Lashlee in high school, and Lashlee’s coaching career started when he served as Malzahn’s offensive graduate assistant at Arkansas in 2006. They’ve been mostly joined at the hip ever since. It would not be inaccurate to consider their bond almost familial, much closer than merely professional.

Malzahn will not simply fire the assistant who may feel more like a son than a subordinate, making Lashlee a scapegoat for 2015’s failures.
There you have it. Him or me. Craig vs. Lashlee. Office politics not unlike what you’ve likely seen at your workplace.

Ummm I'm pretty sure Tee Martin didn't give a shite about going back to Tennessee even BEFORE he became the offensive coordinator at USC this year.

150k is a shite ton of money. He's a position coach at Auburn and not the position he wants to coach (wants more involvement in the offense). Had he been a full OC, I could understand, but not a position coach man.

I love LSU but for an extra 150K I would go to Auburn, Alabama, Afghanistan, Syria.

Do we have a passing game coordinator? Maybe they could give him a title like that and he can work with the QB's and the receivers. And if he progresses well for a couple of years maybe he can work his way to OC either here or starting at a smaller school at first.

By the way, anybody know what Ensminger actually does? I know he is "tight ends coach" but you never really see his name pop up much in recruiting and the tight ends don't seem to be an elite group over the years. Seems kind of like a wasted spot. Am I missing something?
