Lynn Swann: Calvin Johnson has not done enough to be considered a HOFer

Former Steelers receiver Lynn Swann retired at age 30 with 336 catches for 5,462 yads and 51 touchdowns. But Swann says that Calvin Johnson, who’s expected to retire at the age of 30 with 731 catches for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns, shouldn’t join him in the Hall of Fame.
“I would think that it would be difficult for Calvin Johnson at this point to be considered a Hall of Famer,” Swann told the Detroit News. “Calvin Johnson has an extreme amount of talent and ability, but when you start to look at his team, the success of his team and did he lift that team; he made them a little bit better, but at the end of the day, I’m not quite sure.”

Shocked if he doesn't get in.

Of all the guys to say this, he might be the worst.

Well...do cumulative stats or skillset get you in the HOF?
22nd in Receiving TDs
43rd in Receptions
27th in Receiving Yards
2-3 more seasons and he shoots up those lists

So essentially Calvin had already passed Swann's career stats in half the time. Better to stay silent Swann.

Is Swann showing signs of CTE?

I'm still shocked Lynn is in it

I don't even know what to say. How could someone be so unaware of their production comparatively.
Posted on 2/10/16 at 12:08 pm to Bench McElroy
CTE is very serious.

Marques Colston should be in it then.

Calvin Johnson redefined what execs were looking for in a WR, since getting to the NFL...
Lynn Swann wasn't even the best WR on his own fricking team...
yeah, Lynn.... just eat your fricking pudding cup and get to bed...

Neither Swann nor Johnson deserve to be in the HOF.
Johnson's numbers are a result of playing in the most pass-happy era of football history, in addition to being a very good receiver.
He's done nothing else. No one is going to be talking about Calvin Johnson 10 years from now. Not any more than they talk about Art Monk or James Lofton. And those two are actually IN the Hall of Fame, and deserve to be there.
My opinion is the Hall lets too many people in to begin with. They need to start cutting the number of inductions by half.

Lynn Swann is the least deserving Hall of Famer there is.

The original overrated NFL player calling someone much more deserving overrated.

Is Swann filing with the NFL for more C.T.E. money?
