Have we seen anyone actually die in a Marvel movie yet? I know it is implied with Loki and Odin and with the destruction of cities but I can't think of one time there is actual real loss.

Comic book readers know someone will die but will they really do it in a mainstream movie? I mean casual fans like continuity and killing off a Chris Evans or RDJ will make people upset. Maybe they just arrest and place in a holding cell in the movie in order to not upset people
If the person who dies in the comics doesn't in this film or some time down the line, and I don't think he will, then I'm done with Marvel films.

well I hope they take your threat seriously and kill someone soon before losing you

Pietro Maximoff is pretty dead.

correct. Kilgrave (jessica jones) has been the only good one. he was a damn good one though
He was almost too good. A villain that powerful should warrant a visit from one of the main heroes in the MCU.

I don't think Black Goliath will even be in the movie.

Not who I'm referencing
I suppose I should have been more clear in when the individual dies.
Per wikipedia, they die in the aftermath of Civil War.

It's pretty obvious who you are talking about.
No way this happens going into Infinity Wars though.
Unless that actor is holding to their guns and saying they are done. If that is the case I suppose they have two characters who have played that role before step in.

I just can't see marvel even teasing about cap dying. He's the most popular comic character in the world right now.
Killing him, even if for just 1 movie might be devastating to the future of marvel movies.

Meanwhile, we know Ruffalo is going to be in Ragnorok, so Hulk has evidently gone to Asgard. Thor and Tony already have a contentious relationship, so I could see those two checking out of Earth for a while.
I haven't looked online for any plot spoilers at all so this is just out of my imagination, but what if the major contention between Tony and Steve isn't really about Bucky, what if it starts with Tony shooting Hulk into deep space? Thor leaves earth to find him, setting up Ragnarok, (also explaining both being absence from the "team cap/team iron man" promos) and now Steve doesn't want to turn Bucky over for the fear that Tony would do something just as drastic to eliminate him.

I can't believe no one has even mentioned that Spiderman is supposed to be in this movie. He isn't in the trailers but he is going to be the real swing vote. He is arguably the biggest Marvel star there is.

Plus, in comics, it has become an acceptable paradigm that characters who die hardly ever stay dead. I wouldn't particularly mind if the movies decided to forego that little bit of comic book usage and maybe just not kill characters if they don't intend them to stay dead.

In the comics or these films? I'll argue RDJ's Iron Man is the most popular character in the MCU.

It might be cool if they killed him and then brought them back a few movies later. As long as it is well explained, I'll allow it. When star trek killed Spock people were sad but felt good that it was an honorable sacrifice. When they brought him back it didn't feel cheap and lessen the emotions of the sacrifice, it only enhanced them.

There is a rumor of this happening in CW and that Infinity War Pt 1 is about getting a certain item in hopes to revive this person.
I find this to be very plausible and would mean our first true meaningful death in the MCU and sets up everything nicely for IW.

He used to be. I think Cap has taken that over though.
Couldn't tell you how many Cap costumes I saw during Mardi Gras yesterday. I know that's an absurdly small sample size, but still though.

This is really uninformed because:
SPOILERS
1. Cap doesn't die in Civil War. Cap dies in the aftermath heading to trial
2. Cap doesn't really die BECAUSE of Civil War, or anything actually having to do with Civil War, the two events are basically separate.
3. Cap dies because the Red Skull orders it, and the Skull using the event for his own means and other machinations that involve destabilizing the Cap identity, manipulating Carter, using Kronas etc.
It's kind of shortsighted to think that the conclusion of CW relies on Cap dying, the conclusion of the Comic Book CW is based on the idea that Cap believes enough is enough, he doesn't take Stark down in the end. He lets himself be captured. That's the end of CW.
With that said, a Cap death, while effective on screen, they aren't killing him for good, so there's almost no reason to do it.
