Couldn't tell you how many Cap costumes I saw during Mardi Gras yesterday. I know that's an absurdly small sample size, but still though.

I agree.
If you ever go to Disney World, you sill see hundreds of Captain America shirts, on both kids and adults. You can count on 1 hand how many Iron Man or Hulk shirts you'll see.

I think just paying attention whenever you go anywhere where there is a good bit of people, like the mall or a sporting event, or your kids soccer game, you are more than likely going to see a captain american shirt, and it's not limited to just kids, you'll see it at every age.

There are too many non comic book readers that watch these movies, and the sight of Captain America dying would piss a lot of people off.

Cap is the ultimate symbol of good. That is why people of all ages can look up and relate to him. Iron man is a rich a-hole and that turns alot of people off. My whole family has Captain America shirts and we are going to wear them to the movie.

I'm not saying his death couldn't be an effective point in a long story, but why does he "need" to die?

There are lots of effective deaths, Tony, to me, being even more effective. Someone more innocent like Hawkeye. And we all know Vision is doomed eventually.

And selfishly, Evans is the best superhero on screen right now by a country mile, and he's Cap, I don't want to see him go. But he doesn't "need" to die.

In a later post I corrected myself in saying he died in the aftermath of CW.

But thanks baw for informing the others.

Per wikipedia, they die in the aftermath of Civil War.

It's pretty obvious who you are talking about.

No way this happens going into Infinity Wars though.

Unless that actor is holding to their guns and saying they are done. If that is the case I suppose they have two characters who have played that role before step in.

If you're talking about Cap, see my post above.

In the comics Bucky takes over as Cap. They could "kill" Steve, let Bucky be Cap, then resurrect Steve for Infinity War. All of this would fit in with the ethos of the comics.

Evans could do something else for a little while. Stan is signed on for a bunch of movies, and it gives some real weight to Tony's little vendetta.

RDJ has been saying that since Iron Man 2.

Evans has said he wants to direct stuff, other stuff.

Evans actually stepped back a little from that last year I think:

quote:

I think it’s almost like high school. You’re kind of always looking ahead, about when you’ll graduate, but then when graduation day arrives you kind of don’t want to leave. I AM gonna try and focus on directing a bit more, but by no means am I done acting. And if they’d have me back, yeah, I’d probably consider it.

It works so well there's no way they do it. It's too obvious.

No doubt, especially since they introduced Crossbones and Sharon Carter in CA:WS, and both are going to be in CA:CW.

I kind of like that they've kept him completely under wraps. No images, no shot in the trailer, nothing. He can be a great villain, and they don't feel the need to waste it.

Or he's von Strucker all over again. But that would be a huge waste of Bruehl.
